Has anyone else been watching today? I've watched 4 episodes so far. Dated, but loving it

She certainly is @Tilllly

Begging Richard not to leave, she loves him, then saying the same to Terry. She obviously just doesn't want to be alone! She deserves to be! Poor Terry!

Tilllly · 27/01/2024 01:07

Tho Terry is a bit pathetic

bigTillyMint · 27/01/2024 15:48

Michelle has lost the plot completely!

Dr Turner looked a bit different back in those days, eh?!

VanillaImpulse · 28/01/2024 00:48

Needing permission from the husband to be sterilised and permission from wife for a vasectomy!

RainbowZebraWarrior · 31/01/2024 12:55

I'm just catching up on this week's five episodes. It's making me feel a bit sick actually. Pretty much all the men are sexist pigs.

NCTDN · 31/01/2024 20:46

It amazes me how quickly people can pack up all their worldly belongings !

Snozzlemaid · 01/02/2024 16:19

Catching up on a few episodes today.

The women's hairdos seem to get bigger each episode.

Sinbad's bonfire 😮

And as a PP said not really enjoying all the talk about the Grant's sex life. Bobby's constant nagging is enough to put anyone off.

I'd forgotten women used to wear heels all of the time. Just going to the shops or out for a walk - always in heels.
Thank god I no longer have to do that.

ceecee32 · 14/02/2024 15:54

I've just binge watched this week's drop of 5 episodes.....no spoilers...but its very good

bigTillyMint · 14/02/2024 15:58

I’m just catching up - Pat in his string vest and shorts 😎😳🤣

NCTDN · 15/02/2024 12:07

I've been waiting for this week.

Snozzlemaid · 15/02/2024 17:07

I've just finished this weeks' episodes too.
Really good episodes.
I didn't watch from the beginning originally so this is all new to me and I was shocked at the outcome.

Ooh, I'm behind. I'd usually have watched this week's offerings by now, but I've had Covid so not felt up to it. Looking forward to hopefully catching up at the weekend. I did watch it back in the day, but I've forgotten some of the storylines.

I remember seeing this the first time round. Very well done, even by todays standards.

VanillaImpulse · 17/02/2024 00:18

A good batch this week. I unfortunately had read a spoiler on digital spy though so found out the outcome beforehand which ruined it somewhat

Tilllly · 17/02/2024 04:37

Am staying off here till I've caught up...

Tilllly · 19/02/2024 00:44

Ooooh. 😱

Snozzlemaid · 29/02/2024 15:14

Aw Edna 😢

Makingupfactstosuitmyagenda · 29/02/2024 21:59

Very sad. My grandma died of stroke around the same time, so seeing the hospital and the funeral took me back. The hospital seemed very basic but I know people seemed to stay in for a long time. I remember early 80s my sister being admitted two days before a minor op! She then stayed in over a week after.

the verbal aggression and derogatory comments are probably ramped up for drama, but, I am from an area peripheral to Liverpool and this is pretty much how I remember it. Very much an attitude of getting the first blow in.

StillCreatingAName · 29/02/2024 23:46

Ooh I had no idea this was rerunning anywhere- shame it’s not still on C4, but I’ll watch anyway. It was ahead of its time with stories, just absolutely top class drama in the early days.

(my first proper telly sob was the Damon and Debbie spin off, which came much later than the eps it’s on now, I was completely distraught after watching it.)

NCTDN · 01/03/2024 12:02

I was also distraught with Damon and Debbie!
Now the corkhills are in, we're not meant to remember that he (as in the actor) was the headteacher at school and Tracy was Damon's friend?! That's the problem with running them through so much quicker than they weren't time.

MadisonAvenue · 01/03/2024 12:25

Damon and Debbie was heartbreaking!
I remember Simon O’Brien doing a nightclub appearance in our town while he was playing Damon, he was so sweet, think I’ve still got the signed photocard somewhere.

Hope we get to see Julia Brogan soon, now the Corkhills have arrived.

VanillaImpulse · 02/03/2024 14:29

Oh I bloody loved Julia! Didn't realise she came into it this early, I started watching originally in 1991 with Sue falling off the scaffolding story

VanillaImpulse · 02/03/2024 14:29

Meant to link this. Julia's best bits!!

VanillaImpulse · 02/03/2024 14:31

What I love about old brookside is how they take their time over storylines and don't rush it. Nowadays Edna would have died from the stroke straightaway and you might get a few mins dedicated to the funeral.

NCTDN · 02/03/2024 16:53

I don't take remember Julia. Where did she live?
