Ali Osman was a Turkish Cypriot. He was in it from the start.
They also had an Italian family in it once. Be ppe is the only one I remember from that particular family.

Yes a few escape( Ricky, Grant, Sam) but there are no couples / single people who aren't living near their family.

Kush and shakils dad showed up when Shaki died the had something at Mashoods house where the imam came, I can't remember much about it they lived in Dubai and I think they brother was called Darius.

Oh yes! Well remembered. I thought the dad may have been in it briefly, but can't recall him. The brother called Darius sounds right.

Maybe just Darius lives in Dubai that's where Carmel is.

Carmel was a great character- loved her.

They had the Ferreira family , (including the lovely but quite wimpy Ash )

And the cafe/taxi firm ( which is now Kathy's) was run by Sue and Ali Osman , with Ali's brother Mehmet and his wife Guisin (though Mehmet spent most of his time gambling and womanising rather than taxi-ing)
Ali, Mehmet and Guisin were Turkish ( I think Cypriot born Turkish ) Sue was a Londoner so they showed a lot of the struggles she had with his family isolating her , expecting her to behave in a certain way and ignore her husbands failings .

And way back in the beigining there was Saeed and Naima Jeffrey who ran the shop , Saeed was caught going to prostitutes
