Tales of an average Northern working class street that’s home to three widows of serial killers, including one whose brother is also a serial killer.

Tonight's dialogue was surreal - nothing made much sense and most of the writing was bizarre.

lollipoprainbow · 10/02/2023 22:15

It's so crap at the moment

lollipoprainbow · 10/02/2023 22:16

That awful Rufus guy

Ballofstrings · 10/02/2023 22:09

Lawrence had to rush to someone in another chalet who was having a dental emergency 😂

Seriously, who writes this shite?!!

Yes, in Switzerland, where he's presumably neither registered nor insured to start dealing with 'emergencies'.

TellingBone · 10/02/2023 22:51

Was Stephen eyeing Carla murderously there? Sheep/lamb I suppose.

I do love Kirk by the way. Such a well written and acted character.

harrassedmumto3 · 11/02/2023 00:04

I loved it when it all turned to shit for annoying Stephen and Sarah! Hopefully Beth will get fired too Grin

That's exactly how I would describe his expression!

I’m sure I remember Adam and Sarah trying for a baby months ago, they discussed it and she was tracking her ovulation etc then mad Lydia turned up, I also do not remember Sarah having psychosis after Harry at all. Also it really get on my nerves how utterly lifeless the Rovers is, in classic it’s full of the regular cast just in the background, you never see that nowadays.

Lorrymum · 11/02/2023 08:50

Such rot at the moment. Even if Sarah and Michael won any contracts how are they planning to make them, find premises, staff etc etc. Just bonkers.
As for the ridiculously sexist buyer it was like a script from a Carry On film.

Ballofstrings · 11/02/2023 08:58

I wonder if they’ve had new script writers in recent months. The storylines have gone from bad to worse every week. So many completely unbelievable and annoying stories all on the go. It’s like they take each story to over the top outlandish stage then forget about it and introduce another one.

FeltCarrot · 11/02/2023 09:09

Agree with how it’s gone downhill in the last few (10?) years. When I’m watching Classic Corrie, I’m actually watching it and look forward to it. Current Corrie I’m not fully engaged and it seems more of a habit now.
I think I’ve got a couple more years of Classic Corrie being good before that’s goes to pot, then I’ll probably give up altogether.

I agree with you. Classic Corrie was so much better. There’s a thread on MN for it 🥳

It was ridiculous, wasn’t it? And the way he sort of stroked the sample without even looking at it properly (no checking the seams or stitching, or even holding it up to the light). I also couldn’t get the idea that he was a very cheap Elvis Costello tribute act out of my head.

Also, is the Sean and Laurence storyline meant to be comical or serious? It was so stupid. And I don’t believe for a moment that Sean would know what “mea culpa” meant. He’d probably have thought Maya Culper was another woman Laurence had pushed off a mountain.

Yes

Elvis Costello sprang to my mind as well

What a farce it all was

mattyd · 11/02/2023 17:11

Poor Gail, her whole life has been one giant crime scene, bodies everywhere.

eggandonion · 11/02/2023 17:13

Maybe Stephen can murder rufus and sean. Why is Dylan living in Eileen's.

AutumnCrow · 11/02/2023 18:43

Poor Gail, her whole life has been one giant crime scene

That's fabulous Grin

bizzey · 11/02/2023 19:43

Dylan wanted to stay on the street and live with Sean...as it was better than living in London .

Or was he being bullied ?

eggandonion · 11/02/2023 19:58

If sean had a flat over a shop i would accept that, but Eileen's house is bursting at the seams with randomers.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 11/02/2023 20:35

How ridiculous. Sean’s boyfriend the dentist being on holiday and getting called to a dental emergency? Who writes these scripts ?

Helendegenerate · 11/02/2023 20:39

Far too many people living in those tiny terraced houses. So unrealistic it's a joke.

Mollypolly2610 · 11/02/2023 22:04

who is Rufus?

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 11/02/2023 23:43

The irritating little sales rep.

bizzey · 12/02/2023 00:42

Doing "carry on " jokes about Carla having a nice rack ...and I ( he ) don't mean about a coat hanger.. etc ..

Gross !!

ResultsInNoParticularOrder · 12/02/2023 01:14

We also thought Elvis Costello! 😂
