I can completely understand why people are getting upset, it’s a sensitive topic and as a SA victim myself I sometimes do struggle a lot with programmes about it.
However I don’t take issue with people discussing Becky on this thread. Nobody’s saying she lied or that TLR isn’t capable of it. We’re all intelligent adults and can see that TLR is a monster, nobody is blinded just because he’s conventionally good looking and I think it’s offensive to suggest otherwise.
The question isn’t “Did Becky lie?” or “Did TLR actually rape Becky?”. The question is “Has Cathy put two and two together and made ten when it comes to Becky’s suicide?”. Even if Cathy has made up her own story and stuck to it, it doesn’t necessarily mean Becky wasn’t raped but there could be even more to the story than than that Catherine isn’t acknowledging. What that is? I don’t know, that’s up to Sally Wainwright but I expect a reveal that Catherine made a mistake or upset Becky somehow, (perhaps forcing the baby on her and trying to get her to bond?) and that Catherine didn’t deal with the situation as well as she could of, and Catherine has gone into denial about it.
One thing I’m intrigued about is how Becky felt towards the baby as that’s not ever been explored and I think that in itself would provide a lot of context. Was she caring for him in those 6 weeks, did she bond with him or have any maternal feelings for him? Or could she not look at him and Catherine was doing all of the care?
