I can choose whether my phone vibrates , on silent or otherwise …

What I’m thinking is - logically TLR must be planning to take Ryan with him, wherever he’s going, if he envisages any future with him. Surely even a psychopath couldn’t expect a schoolboy to get on a plane to go and meet a famously escaped convict? (Though Ryan did bunk off school and get on a train …)

So how’s that going to happen? Unless they’ve already agreed a meeting place (which I refuse to believe) - what? Is he going to phone him and say “Meet me at the skydiving place 2.30pm tomorrow”?

It could be via the "mystery man" who approached Ryan at school to give him TLR's address to write to him (possibly linked to Cesco?)

For some reason I’m suddenly wishing there could be some supernatural happening that puts an end to him! Alien abduction, or the earth opening up and devouring him.

But I imagine there’s a reason we were told about the asbestos …

I've just finished watching Sarah Lancashire in Julia; where rather alarmingly, an asbestos brick is used to aid bread making. Perhaps Catherine can bludgeon him to death with an over-baked baguette!

I think they said they had put in a request for the phone to be traced. It would probably not be immediate though.

It is definitely possible to stop your phone from vibrating if you need to, and I bet Jo has done because she wouldn't want Rob to know when she was getting messages from Faisal.

I thought Jo's phone was and old (not smart) one. In keeping with his having fancy clothes and her in primark, but wouldn't allow him to trace her easily.

If it were real life Catherine and Ryan would be killed, TL would escape but be convicted some years in the future for another heinous crime while on the run, the two goons would be killed, just two more low life gangsters losing their lives, their boss Knezevic will go on to further riches.
Faisal will kill himself as he can't live with the guilt ( or his nagging wife ), Neckbeard will be accused of Joanna's murder but won't be convicted because there isn't enough evidence against him.
Hopefully it won't be true to life and we get a happy ending. 🤞it's not called Happy Valley for nothing.

There's no way Neckbeard doesn't have Jo's phone on Find My IPhone. and that @LaviniasBigBloomers - controlling git like him. There's no way he'd let her sneak off for a coffee with her mates, or meet her mam for a bit of shopping. He'd want to be able to track where she was every minute of every day

If Jo met Rob at the start of her A'levels (so 16/17 y o) and she's 26 now, he must have got her under his thumb and pregnant very quickly. Florence looks at least 8/9 y o to me.

Just to pick up one of themes of last thread - I have just re-watched series 1. I had forgotten half of what TLR had done. I had forgotten he had murdered his partner in crime - Lewis - and then murdered the person whose flat they stayed in after Ann escaped. I also got the feeling he might have murdered the friend of Ryan’s.

not surprised that Catherine felt utterly betrayed by Claire. But she is naive. I had forgotten she had just dropped to Daniel
casually that Catherine and Richard were sleeping again - and then Daniel went ballistic.

Tried to read through the whole thread and couldn’t see it mentioned anywhere but Ryan’s friend who he went to the canal boat with in S1 was Cesco so he’s grown up with him.

There's definitely something about the timeline on this series: TLR in court in Leeds on Tuesday, pissed on thug's wedding on Wednesday, Catherine's last day on Thursday.
