Did anyone else notice that both Catherine and Tommy say, in their respective first scenes, “How Do?” in the same tone of voice? I like little touches like that.

I found it odd that Catherine would have let the injunction thing slip....

If Catherine dies at the very last moment I'll feel terribly let down. That plot line is rather over-used.

Well unless he's still got stitches from 7 years ago yes

In later scenes of episode 1, the scar is much less visible.

The excessive use of "fuck/fucking" by Catherine strikes me as unusual. And the forgetfulness - both symptoms of early onset Alzheimer's/Dementia.

I hope I'm wrong.

I love SW writing but if Catherine is killed off I will be hugely disappointed. We need her to have some happiness, maybe with Nev who although older plays a lovely character.

I wonder if TLJ deliberately leaked the story of the body in a barrel killing, just so he would hauled into a court, and thus an opportunity for his bosses to release him

If it turns out Clare has been going behind her back to take Ryan to see Tommy, then I will not be sorry to see her get some kind of comeuppance.

I just caught up with this. I wasn’t prepared for the abusive husband. I’ve been in a dv relationship and it was eerily accurate, really got in my head. The actress was superb as was the writing.

Actually yes, @SenseFromThoughtDivide - again, given how proud he was of those scars, it’s more than possible he did set up the whole ‘discovery of corpse’ thing for some nefarious purpose of his own.

I’ve just watched last night’s episode.
As has been previously discussed, I’m also wracking my brains as to who is taking Ryan to see TLR.
I can’t see it being Ann or Daniel. Because of what she went through and she’s very loyal to Catherine.
I can’t see it being Nevison because of what TLR did to Ann.
I’d be really surprised if it was Claire. But then HV is known for its shockers. And Neil does have previous for iffy behaviour.

Agree there’s something going on with the kid and the coat.

TLR looks unnervingly like my ex with his current long hair look. 😳

So my current thought is Neil and mystery woman. With a backstory / connection between Neil and TLR.

I also thought it was his intention to somehow get out and take Ryan to Spain. Perhaps he and the Drugs Brothers have an arrangement - they get him out (as they have failed to silence him - I'm assuming they are responsible for his impressive scar) and he'll keep quiet about their culpability in the murder of quarry corpse etc.

Agree - it was obvious to me that it was a woman - but DH wasn't sure at first.

However women are supposed to have a better instinct for the biological sex of an androgynous person - it's a survival mechanism, and hard-wired in almost all of us.
