She was the farmer and the series ended with Catherine cradling her after she'd killer her son

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/01/2023 22:03

And thanks @HRTQueen Grin

Mogloveseggs · 08/01/2023 22:04

That felt like half hour can't believe it ended with that!

NashvilleQueen · 08/01/2023 22:04

So Clare realised Catherine had tumbled her, and that's why she didn't look unsurprised, is that how everyone else interpreted that last scene?

Not quite. I think she recognised that Catherine was suspicious and she's clearly feeling guilty for lying to her so wanted to get off the phone. I don't think she knew she was going to walk in though.

Wisterical · 08/01/2023 22:04

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit her son was a result of her being raped by her father.

Emotionalsupportviper · 08/01/2023 22:05

These episodes fly over!

EdieLedwell · 08/01/2023 22:06

That last scene. Holy shit.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/01/2023 22:06

Thanks @NashvilleQueen too. Sorry I feel like I'm spamming but I don't want to ignore anyone.

A good episode, but a quiet one, agree the school scene was great

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/01/2023 22:07

Completely forgotten that, thanks @Wisterical really should have done full rewatch

Jellykat · 08/01/2023 22:07

Cant wait till next week! They surely must pick it up from the cafe scene..

Foxyy · 08/01/2023 22:07

The lies and betrayal are just massive. Yes clare is weak and clearly easily manipulated but even so, it's unbelievable that she would do this.

So Neil involved with the mobile in prison and presents for Ryan from his shop? 'Our Ryan' indeed.

Poor pharmacist, can't see how he can get out if this.

CoffeeBoy · 08/01/2023 22:08

Why is Claire doing this?

Threadkillacilla · 08/01/2023 22:09

Clare is rhubarbed Catherine checked no one was making her do owt.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/01/2023 22:09

Being manipulated by Neil

Wisterical · 08/01/2023 22:09

I just cannot believe it's Clare, the betrayal is too big.

AlmondBake · 08/01/2023 22:11

Such brilliant drama! The tension in the last scenes was amazing.

Maybe she's back on drugs. Addicts will lie and sell anyone down the river for their next fix.

So disappointing. I was hoping it was imposters like weedy Wheelan and a friend masquerading as them.

I know! Catherine sat in plain view in the background Shock.

TokyoSushi · 08/01/2023 22:13

I think she'll forgive Clare, they'll make out it was all Neil as it's more convenient for both of them than blowing up the family.

Catherine does seem slightly more relaxed about the TLR situation than in previous series, possibly due to the passage of time.

Still loads to happen this series though I think.

Oooh Foxy - I didn’t make the connection between the Rico’s Newsagent in TLR message and the shop Neil’s working in. But I reckon you’re onto something.

That final cafe scenes were awesome.

Bring on next week.

(very sad re little girl still in her anorak 😔)

Janieread · 08/01/2023 22:15

Claire just wouldn't do this.

HollyBerri · 08/01/2023 22:19

Brilliant. The cafe scene where she was sat behind Clare without her knowing was just superb. Best thing I have seen for ages. I can’t wait for next weeks.

Snugglepiggy · 08/01/2023 22:21

I don't see Catherine as more relaxed about TLR.Far from it. She is just holding it all in whilst she gets her head round what's happening. That's why that last scene was unbelievablely tense and do good.As someone previously posted it just gets better. An amazing cast all round.

Poke · 08/01/2023 22:22

😁 what an episode! Brilliant.

We knew it was Claire. She’s definitely being manipulated by Neil. Catherine will forgive her eventually. Claire’s not strong enough to handle Neil.

The dickhead conversation between Catherine and Ryan was absolutely fantastic. Sorry to misquote… ‘Life is full of dickheads, the trick is to learn to work around them.’ Or something similar.

Foxyy · 08/01/2023 22:22

Love how she's supporting Alison and got her a job with Nevison.
