Meryl is so boring. Never says or does anything interesting. You can tell they struggle to find enough footage of her worth broadcasting.

She was really funny at breakfast in the last episode! Had to be the quickest take down of anyone's certain deducing yet.

Not gonna lie, Ive watched the last part of
Last nights episode three times.
When Amanda reveals herself as a traitor,
It's just unbelievable tv. Talk about gripping!

Agreed. My heart was racing!

TellingBone · 21/12/2022 10:34

I'm surprised no one has ever become suspicious of Wilf's tortured reactions to every banishment. He always covers his face with his hands - that's a technique to hide one's 'real' feelings.

Agree with PPs that the traitors will always have the advantage. Twists will ensure there's still a game to be had at the end stage.

CharityShopChic · 21/12/2022 10:36

I have watched most of the Australian one and the editing was the same - until the second to last episode one of the finalists barely had any screen time at all. There was another older guy with an English accent called Paul who was never ever mentioned at all. Very odd.

MrsDrDear · 21/12/2022 10:59

If the winnings go to the most deserved person then Will has gone though the most stress.

I can't imagine having to watch everything you say and to not act completely natural.

The Faithfuls have had an easy ride compared to the Traitors.

Having said that, he's a dirty dog for turning on Alyssa and Amanda so I hope Keiran takes him down!

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 21/12/2022 11:01

@CharityShopChic

Yes that was most strange wasn't it. I googled it and people seem to have theories about it!

ZandathePanda · 21/12/2022 11:09

Why it is that we all feel Wilf was not as nice as Amanda? They were both doing the same thing.

ZandathePanda · 21/12/2022 11:09

Why it is that we all feel Wilf was not as nice as Amanda? They were both doing the same thing.

I'm trying to work that out and I think it's because Amanda has shown some team loyalty while Wilf has no loyalty to anyone...and took Amanda down only because he assumes she's untrustworthy because he is. I think a likeable antihero has to show they support someone other than themselves, even if that person's dodgy too.

Also, Amanda sees it as a game and always has. She's in it to have fun and try to win and took it very gamely when she was voted off. Wilf is obsessed with the money, talks as if nobody else ever had a young family, and the histrionics are unappealing when he's engineering it all himself.

It's an interesting question, though.

ReneBumsWombats · 21/12/2022 11:27

I think we also admire Amanda's gameplay more because she avoided suspicion entirely and Wilf didn't...yes, he's played well in seeing off the other traitors but that was necessary in part because he got suspected. Objectively he's played better because he's still in and they're not, but there just seems to be less art to his game than Amanda's, somehow. She was all about fooling and manipulating people, while Wilf is more about sacrificing people.

I know they both voted Alyssa but she was a liability...and now we know about her off-screen Claudia impression, it makes even more sense!

CharityShopChic · 21/12/2022 11:31

Honestly for me it's because I identify with her more. She's within 5 years of my age and I can imagine going for a meal or a coffee with her. Wilf is a lovely lad, but totally different life stage.

burnoutbabe · 21/12/2022 11:56

i missed last night, was to watch this morning and then LORRAINE ruined it with announcing at 8.30 an interview with Banished Amanda! Gah!

Aaron would have made a good choice to recrut in some ways - he is male/suspected so if he can be recruited, can be kicked off tomorrow.

But Kieran should also be suspected - 2 new people and 1 is faithful, you'd expect the other to be a traitor.

Amanda was good (i mean she is an estate agents for a living!!) but i want Wilf to win now, he is playing the "best game", not sure Andrea is or Maddy with her "i vote for you Aaron as i think you are a traitor" - THAT IS NOT A REASON!!!!

MincePiesSparklyEyesAndNaturalHighs · 21/12/2022 12:00

It's fascinating the difference of opinions and how we perceive characters and actions. It's hard with the editing aswell as we don't get the full picture. I would like to know how/why Amanda voted Alyssa because that wasn't shown.
I never warmed to Amanda, I just found her false. Although it was comical how she knew she was up for banishment so she turned up to the round table in a blanket and glasses, playing the frail mother type.
I always preferred Wilf and that opinion has stayed, I actually think now he would be a worthy winner

RosalindsAFuckingNightmare · 21/12/2022 12:00

I thought Wilf was a muppet at the beginning but he's playing the game really well. He was getting a lot of screen time early on too which made me think he was going to go far. I hope Kieran turns on him though!

awaynboilyurheid · 21/12/2022 12:01

Can’t stand Maddy she’s like a dog with a bone no reasons just continually picks on Aaron
I liked Amanda I I don’t think she would have done the same to Will I think she felt stronger with the two of them because if they are in different groups they can sow seeds of doubt or if somone mentioned one of the traitors by name they could quickly cast doubt on to another and distract which seemed to be a good strategy for them, but Will has thrown that now.
Think Aron’s time is almost up which is a shame but they will think it’s got to be a male traitor so will go for him,as they never seem to question Kieran.

LipsSoScarlet · 21/12/2022 12:03

I don’t think Aaron would have been a good choice to recruit. Maddy has had it in her head that if Aaron is a traitor then so is Wilf for a long time now. If she was proven right about Aaron then it might have made people more likely to trust her judgement on Will as a result.

Apparently they were messing around off camera and doing impressions of Claudia, and Alyssa did an impression of her saying, "Hello traitors." The others, naturally, wondered why she'd heard Claudia saying that.

I would have chucked her after that too!

but they can also kill maddy tonight! if aaron accepts.

If aaron was asked and said no, he woukd be murdered so then maddy accepts she is wrong about A/W.

If aaron accepts, they kill maddy, she is out, maybe then people suspect A but at this stage, 6 left, everyone is suspect! one could easily argue maddy was killed to FRAME Aaron. (and in fact Kieron and Wil may kill maddy for that reason)

This is exactly what I said! Even if they murder Maddy, people would remember what she’d said. After all, she never stops banging on about it Grin

I love Aaron and Andrea's friendship.

So many A names.

ZandathePanda · 21/12/2022 12:30

Yes! I think this sums it up best how Amanda seems nicer than Wilf.

Not sure this series will be good for Amanda’s real life job though!

She really doesn’t! I’d love to see her face at Aaron saying he’s a faithful if he lasts longer than her. I do have a soft spot for Maddy though, she really makes me laugh.

ReneBumsWombats · 21/12/2022 12:34

I like Maddy. I still laugh about her telling Alex that if she split up with Tom, the picture of him with his face crossed out would be a good one to have. Alex laughed too even though she was upset at the time.

Her reasoning is crazy, but she still has the right conclusion and she's the only one to suspect Wilf.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 21/12/2022 12:42

I am not too keen on the whole “ignorance” as personality thing. How can an adult really not know what nimble means? Hmm

(Ive started reading everything on this thread in Amanda’s accent).

crisscrosscringle · 21/12/2022 12:47

If I were Wilf (and Kieran possible) I would murder Mandy tonight because Aaron is more like to be banished. Then I'd murder Hannah leaving Andrea and Meryl.

Shekissedagirlandshelikedit · 21/12/2022 12:49

I admire Wilf's game play and want him to win. However, I think Kieron might be a better player and if he becomes a traitor
he'll work to get Wilf banished. I think Maddy or Hannah will be murdered as they are the least easy to manipulate.

I thought the show was a bit naff at first but I'm hooked. Amanda's banishment was brilliant TV 👏

RedRedWhiney · 21/12/2022 12:50

So if Wilf was banished now, what would they do for the final?
