As the OP for thread 1 seems to have gone awol, here's the continuation thread.

I mean if the crazy van guy was going to kill her….I feel like he could have gotten her first time…instead of back and forth and catching an arm here…found that a little ridiculous.

Munchyseeds2 · 19/12/2022 22:08

Could have only ended like that really

So good

CyanCyan · 19/12/2022 22:08

Me too @TheBelmont.

I really enjoyed that episode. Nice June will have a pal in Honolulu.

NoEffingWay · 19/12/2022 22:09

I think the macaroons are a nod to Ibsens 'A Dolls House'-they represent disobedience in the play as they are banned by the protagonists husband but she eats them anyway

That was a cracker 😄

What was the point of Nick punching Lawrence? Could he not have calmed down a bit on his way back? Surely he could go on the wall for that.

Who is really trying to kill June?

Where are they taking Janine and the other woman?

cortisolqueen · 19/12/2022 22:17

Where are they taking Janine? The scene in the van reminded me of the scene with Emily and her Martha girlfriend just before they hung her girlfriend and FGMed Emily.

CyanCyan · 19/12/2022 22:18

What happened to Emily? She disappeared

dapsnotplimsolls · 19/12/2022 22:19

Emily decided to go back to Gilead to kill Lydia aka the actress left the series.

bellabelly · 19/12/2022 22:20

I'm watching on catch-up again. The scene where Aunt Lydia is talking to Mrs Puttnam about taking in Janine as a handmaid, while Mrs Puttnam is being measured up for her wedding outfit! Mrs P says she'll consider it (after initially saying NO WAY!) then starts faffing, holding up an ornament or something against her hair. It really reminds me of the bit in Animal Farm where the foolish horse (Molly?) is kept sweet with ribbons for her mane. And sugar lumps.

bellabelly · 19/12/2022 22:22

Is Nick leaving his wife?! He's just crossed into Canada, alone...

dapsnotplimsolls · 19/12/2022 22:24

I feel a bit underwhelmed.

youngestisapsycho · 19/12/2022 22:28

So obvious Serena was gonna be on the train

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 19/12/2022 22:29

I really enjoyed that episode... I guessed Serena would be on the train. Nick's blown his relationship with Lawrence... hope he manages to leave Gilead. Now that Rose has left him he has no reason to stay. Not sure how Rose can leave him? Can't be a single mum in Gilead.

Nick pretty much signed his death warrant by punching Lawrence. Not sure why he did that so publicly?

The train station scene was awful. Reminded me of the holocaust.

I wasn't sure why there were close ups of June's white trainers... and there was a lot of yellow in the episode. Anyone know why?

bellabelly · 19/12/2022 22:29

I worry that Nick is going to get into big trouble back in Gilead. Surely people will know what he's been up to, liaising with Tuello?

Ladybird69 · 19/12/2022 22:33

Wow what an ending. Hi June got a diaper? !!!
can anyone answer my earlier question about the commander going from helping June get the children out to trying to have her killed. His character changed. Aunt Lydia looks angry. Nick is angry. What’s going to happen to them all.

Could the focus on the trainers be to show she means business - no more silly high heels that she can't run in? Someone mentioned previous high heels upthread - and how impractical they would be. So now she has trainers and a bullet-proof vest.
No idea about the yellow though. Hadn't actually noticed that myself!

walnutmarzipan · 19/12/2022 22:33

Nick and Luke both in custody and June is "free"...... wonder how that will all play out.

I was never a Luke fan but he's really grown on me this season.

Not sure of the answer re Commander Lawrence. I think he's a bit fucked in the head tbh.

Sodonewiththisshit · 19/12/2022 22:39

So many great things in that episode. Finally Luke has found a way to bravely save June, instead of just talking about it. I must be the only one who didn't twig that Serena would be on the train. And I just loved Lawrence's "Mrs Puttnam - Naomi - darling."

bellabelly · 19/12/2022 22:41

I reckon that Commander Lawrence thought June would just fall into line with his plans and is utterly frustrated with her for not coming over to "New Bethlehem" and helping him to achieve his aims. As always, he's planning and strategising without thinking about individuals as real people, real human beings. He's also furious with her for telling him in last night's episode that his dead wife hated him and was ashamed of whet he'd become. And of course, June claimed that she let his wife die when she could have prevented her death. I actually can't remember if that bit was true - I think it was? She knew she'd overdosed but let her die? So, I think Lawrence has plenty of reason to want to punish June or erase her entirely.

That made me laugh! The actor delivered that line perfectly.

CyanCyan · 19/12/2022 22:43

I loved that part too. Daaaaarling!!

Lawrence keeps saying he didn’t order it though doesn’t he?

CyanCyan · 19/12/2022 22:44

Why didn’t the two other women go with them? Shamefully I can’t remember their names
