Happy Valley Series 3 Coming

Just rewatched series one and two to refresh myself. Sarah Lancashire is so good.

Why was her character a sergeant again? Was she a detective but downgraded?

The sisters and Ryan could go on the run, Thelma and Louise style, to ilkley.

Or Catherine could summon up an evil being to lay waste to the entire town holding Tommy at its centre? (But she and her family escape.)

I'm hoping that evil Tommy gets his deserved comeuppance in a suitably grisly fashion but I don't want Catherine to be responsible for his demise. I'm not holding my breath, though.

I am looking forward to it, also re-watched the earlier two series.

The young grandson touches my heart.

I love Siobhan. I see her in Tesco’s and always to give her a big hug then decide I’d better not.

I’ve rewatched the first 2 series in preparation. I’ve never seen anything like Happy Valley. I always have a horrible pit in my stomach after watching it, but that’s how good the show is.

Onboard for this. I think I'll have to read a recap as I can't fit in watching the first two series again!

I’ve just re-watched series 2 again. I love it. Brilliant writing and two amazing main actresses.

I loved Ryan as a child and want to see him grown up. Really good actor.

If anyone can’t face a harrowing two season rewatch Shrine pod have done a podcast on HV with synopsis/ rapid recaps of series 1&2 in preparation for podcasts after each S3 episodes - very funny
Siobhan and Sarah are outstanding- don’t rate Kate Winslet but thought she was great in Mare of Easttown - apparently she copied SL to nail the role - makes sense

Catherine can't die- she will be coming up for retirement.

I want to see her retire and live happily ever after.

Great to see it's the same actor playing Ryan, all grown up now. Gives it real continuity.

I think (from the trailer etc) there's a gangland murder and it says that it leads Catherine to Tommy, I wonder if somehow Ryan is involved or at least Catherine fears he is. We know from last series he contacted his dad, I think that contact has continued. In the trailer Anne is speaking to Ryan and telling him he's being used by his dad. I don't think TLR will be released from prison this series, I think it will be more about the control he has over Ryan and Catherine's terror that her grandson might turn out to be like his father.

I bloody love Anne, one of my favourite scenes was her dragging Catherine out of that cellar despite everything that she had been through herself.

DH and I just watched series 2 again to bring ourselves up to speed. It’s just so good isn’t it? Great characters, great acting and fabulous cinematography 🙂 I’m really looking forward to the new series.

No but maybe he agrees to lead them to some other human remains connected to the one they found and manages to escape.

I reckon Catherine will find him and kill him. It would be far too depressing if she doesn't make it after everything she's been through .

Do we know if it is definitely only 3 episodes? i can't see anything online.
