Myself, dh and our son 17 have had a family tradition oner the last few years of watching a couple of episodes of a US sitcom a couple of nights a week. Dh and I hadn't watched any of the series at the times they were broadcast so it's all off Netflix.

We've loved :

The Big Bang Theory
Friends
Joey
Community
Arrested Development
Superstore
Brooklyn 99
Parks and Rec
The Office (US)

We know seem to have come to a dead end. We tried the new show, Blockbuster but it wasn't much cop so we gave up. We tried a few episodes of How I Met Your Mother but we haven't really enjoyed that either. Surely there must be more series still to watch with the same sense of humour as all of the above?

TIA

'Abbot elementary' should be right up your alley.

Modern Family!

Unbreakable kimmy Schmidt!

3rd rock from the sun

Woahbodyforrrrm · 07/12/2022 23:02

We loved Schitts Creek. Although it was a slow burner. I didn't get the hype during the first couple of episodes but I'm so glad I carried on. It's one of the best comedies I've ever watched!

TruestRepairman · 07/12/2022 23:02

Some of those are my absolute favourites. How about:

Rick and Morty
Archer
Bob's Burgers (stick with it past season one, it's finding its feet at that point)
Seinfeld
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Party Down (I think you can get this on Starzplay through Amazon - it's a little-known gem)

Modern Family!
Frasier
The Office (UK version)
Extras

hellypad · 07/12/2022 23:04

It's always sunny in Philadelphia
New Girl
30 Rock

TruestRepairman · 07/12/2022 23:05

Should mention that Archer has a fair bit of crossover with Arrested Development, since you liked that. Lucille Bluth and Mallory Archer are two sides of the same coin (both played by Jessica Walter). Again, I'd say stick with it through season one as it picks up massively in season two.

The Middle
Loved it so much it lockdown that we started again as soon as we finished.

Etinoxaurus · 07/12/2022 23:06

Modern Family
American ‘Ghosts’ is on my list and is meant to be good.
Not comedy, but Nurse Jackie is great.

Seinfeld is my ultimate favourite!! Have watched it 100s of times and I’m not kidding!!

WeThreeKingsofOrientAre · 07/12/2022 23:11

There no show like “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”.
The arrival of Danny DeVito takes the humour to a new level.

frasersmummy · 07/12/2022 23:12

I like last man standing

Notonthestairs · 07/12/2022 23:13

The Middle
Kim's Convenience

Loved them both.

UWhatNow · 07/12/2022 23:14

It is wonderful, and it might be my favourite, but fair warning to the OP that it's, erm, darker than those on her list Grin

Single parents. And all of the previous suggestions. Love a good sitcom.

mrsfollowill · 07/12/2022 23:17

Another vote for Modern Family- also 3rd Rock and Frasier (those last 2 v old now but still good) Also try 'Raising Hope' - bit quirky but excellent :-)
