Helen was great. I am unimpressed by Hamza as well OK he wiggled a bit in the middle but if a women largely stomped around with a wiggly bit in the middle people wouldn't be thinking she should get a medal.

Equally, you could argue that if Helen wasn't a Wronged Woman or was a man lots of people wouldn't be raving about her dance either. She largely stomped about between sitting on Gorka. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Lots of "got her confidence back" and "fuck you" and little else.

it"s all about perception and, once again, personal taste. I far preferred Hamza to Helen. More feeling and flow.

SoupDragon · 03/12/2022 09:02

I'd like Kym v Will in the dance off. Either of them to go, I'm not fussed!

SoupDragon · 03/12/2022 09:04

I think I only care about Hamza (because he's a completely beginner and is so good) and Fleur and Molly (because neither deserve to have been in the DO so often). It's rare that I root for a Ringer - unheard of in fact!

i don't think I'm as invested this year though.

Lentilweaver · 03/12/2022 09:07

At this point, I don't think it matters what Molly does. She could be Ginger Rogers reincarnated and still be in the DO, and Will won't be.

Ramble0n · 03/12/2022 09:13

I like Hamza,Molly and Helen. I'm not fussed about any of the others.

Maireas · 03/12/2022 09:46

I thought it was a bit crass of Gorka to show his bottom to Craig like that.
Fleur looked absolutely gorgeous and I liked her dance. Hers, Molly's and Hamza's were the best imo.

TitsInAbsentia · 03/12/2022 09:47

I have just checked next week's TV schedule and we've been shifted [aka shafted] again due to football...main shown in SUNDAY and results on Monday ffs stop bollocksing up my weekend viewing!

Watch the programme from 1 hour 40 seconds. Helen is standing in front of Will and turns her body to talk to Kim. She's trying to put her arm around Kim's shoulder, but Will grabs her by the hip and arm and pulls her back towards him, so she's off balance and has to take a sideways step. He's then got one arm around her waist and is rubbing her arm on the other side. He kisses her on the neck and cheek. I think she's politely responding and maybe stopping him by putting her hand over his. She then pulls away towards Kim again. It cuts to Fleur. When it cuts back to the other dancers, she's got her arm around Kim. Will looks like he's touching Molly's back. Then back to Fleur and back to the crowd, he's got his arm around her neck/shoulders and doing the same to Gorka on the other side. It did not strike me as particularly reciprocal. Touchy, feely, wandering hands men give me the ick. Creep.

Oh Gawd!

I didn't like Will to start with - this has made me feel physically sick. He's openly accosting women in a public venue where it would be "bad form" for them to call him out - all they can do is try to bring away from him.

What a foul piece of work he is.

Emotionalsupportviper · 03/12/2022 09:51

*cringe away - not bring

TitsInAbsentia · 03/12/2022 09:55

I have just watched the will bit (is when fleur comes up from her dabce) and it doesn't look creepy at all, I think a big something over nothing.

I don't understand it. There's only repeats on BBC2 tonight, either Strictly or the footie could be shown there. Same with next weekend. Strictly was only 1 hour, it could have been slotted in.

Inkanta · 03/12/2022 10:30

That really is messing with us - big time!

ChessieFL · 03/12/2022 10:38

It’s all to do with not wanting Strictly to clash with England matches I think. England are playing tomorrow which would clash with the results show, so they brought both the live and results programmes forward. Next weekend there’s a chance England will be playing Saturday evening, hence moving Strictly to Sunday/Monday. They could of course put Strictly on BBC2 but I guess they want to maximise ratings/don’t want to cause arguments about which one to watch!

MoirasSaggyBundles · 03/12/2022 11:09

The reason Strictly is not on tonight is because England could have been playing tonight, had they come second in their group stage matches. The outcome of their group stage was not known until Tuesday - scheduling is done weeks/months in advance, so the schedulers would not have taken the chance of a clash. As it happens, the USA came second and England first, so USA play tonight and England tomorrow. I don't think the Beeb would have wanted to clash the football with Strictly on another BBC channel either - not good for their ratings. As to next weekend, again, England could be playing on Saturday night in the quarter finals, but equally they could have been playing on Friday had the group stage had a different outcome. So the best option was to go for Sunday/Monday Strictly. The football semis are on weekdays and the final is on Sunday afternoon on the 18th, so at least that won't mess up the Strictly final's usual schedule.

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 03/12/2022 11:25

Bloody football. Saturday night won't be the same.

2Rebecca · 03/12/2022 11:44

Agree strictly at same time on another BBC channel would be better for viewers like me uninterested in football. Presume contestants and staff would have wanted to watch if England playing though and the actual show goes on for hours

I was thinking about Hands Up by Ottawan.

😂😂😂

Musermum · 03/12/2022 12:36

Only just caught up. I was actually crying after Helen's dance, I thought it was great. Loved Molly but agree nothing on Gio and Georgia, thought Will was good, definitely helped by the song and theme (and Nancy's dress... She is beautiful). Fleur was good but wax a bit bored, Hamza good but hated the music, and Kym loved the music but she just looked exhausted, as I'm sure she is after Covid. Would've voted Helen x2 and Molly. Also raging about the football... My husband doesn't watch and I'm not English. Oh well.

I've watched it and I can't make my mind up. I think he might have been whispering in her ear rather than kissing her neck - didn't she say earlier how close and supportive they all were? It looks like that. What puts me in two minds is whether or not she looks uncomfortable when they switch back and she's with Kym. I don't think it's conclusive either way TBH.

(and I'm not a Will fan - there's something about him I don't like)

Lentilweaver · 03/12/2022 12:53

Watching Helen's dance again, I think it was a lot of posing, not dancing, but she delivered it well and with sass. Anyway, CC is always a bit of a hotch-potch.

toomuchlaundry · 03/12/2022 13:03

@Lentilweaver it’s the style of dance with that music

lettingthedaysgoby · 03/12/2022 13:20

Butteredtoast55 · 02/12/2022 21:37

Whilst Helen did really well, I always feel like she's dancing each part separately and there's no delivery of the dance from her heart. It's like she's thinking 'now I do the arms, now we do that step'. I just find her hard to connect with.
I love Hamza and I think he has such natural ability. I also feel he has had some duff music to go with dances, especially the weird Jurassic Park rhumba and having to do a samba to the slowest number in the Lion King. Even with that disadvantage, he was fantastic and Jowita is an amazing teacher and choreographer.

I think this one was delivered from the heart, with venom, in spades. Re-watched a couple of times, the way she mouths "You're better of without me" spat straight to camera... chills.

lettingthedaysgoby · 03/12/2022 13:35

Having seen a number of Cabaret productions (including the amazing one with Will Young as MC) Helen's dance was bang on the money for the context (and the sass). Would have worked with anyone else? Maybe, but a good musical number is all about both the show and the performers.

This was a couple's choice, they are often about something important to the celeb - usually some contempowaft nonsense about their Nanna. This was one totally different one, and it was brilliant. And very Fosse. If it had been a tango, for instance, I'd agree with the criticisms of just posing. But it was a couple's choice rooted in Fosse, and that's very much a part of how his choreo works.

Yes, you are probably right. I have only seen the movie a long time ago. Been meaning to go to the current production in the West End but by god, it's expensive!

ArcaneWireless · 03/12/2022 13:38

It was marvellous.
