Just a new wee thread for you all 😉

OP posts:
LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 27/11/2022 10:31

The crew REALLY went for Matt didn’t they, that large spray right in the mush 😂

Chocrock · 27/11/2022 10:40

I’m glad MT has gone but the last 3 are so dull I can’t pick a winner

itsgettingweird · 27/11/2022 10:40

Jenasaurus · 27/11/2022 09:55

For the MH fans I’ve done a little video

Brilliant 🤣

ILookAtTheFloor · 27/11/2022 10:41

This thread has really made me reflect on my political thinking which is all over the place these days - I say I'm a sceptic/critical questioning thinker rather than one 'tribe' but my DH would call me a 'tory' - I'm not, it's just that I can't stand the preachy self-righteousness of the lefties, which is seemingly the cultural consensus right now, so I tend to naturally gravitate to the other 'side'.

As I said in another thread, I'm a contrarian so very much enjoying the frothing at the mouth of the Twitterati. What a shock - a Tory politician is actually a HUMAN BEING! And people can recognise this and have voted accordingly in an entertainment programme!

I was vehemently opposed to all lockdowns so was hardly pleased with MH's actions during the pandemic but can see it for what it was-- systematic failure due to worldwide groupthink.

2Rebecca · 27/11/2022 10:41

I suspect he was hamming it up and doing a superhero walk as part of the cosplay theme.
I was under whelmed by the cyclone having not watched much of the programme for years. From Owen's gushing about it and the name I expected something more circular and spinny with waves. It was fun but not bucket list exciting

itsgettingweird · 27/11/2022 10:42

If they'd left them all languishing in hospital wards for weeks until testing available then the beds wouldnt have been free for admissions that would have have been much worse.

And likely still have caught covid and passed away.

The virus was brutal.

It killed seemingly healthy young people and some that survived were disabled for life.

We've become so use to modern medicine we forget it can't make people immortal. We have a strange relationship with death in this country I think.

itsgettingweird · 27/11/2022 10:45

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 27/11/2022 10:23

Matt striding up the Cyclone was genuinely hilarious - does he even mean to be funny? Or is it accidental?

I think he's accidentally an amusing figure.

I don't think all the ,Edina training in the world prepares you for the cyclone Grin

Ramble0n · 27/11/2022 10:50

I think he thought that it was easy and he was going to just stride up and get the stars and show the others how it was done.

Then he got bonked on the head by that ball and I laughed and laughed.

Rhondaa · 27/11/2022 10:51

itsgettingweird · 27/11/2022 10:45

Yes I think that's why people like him. He's awkward, he's the one the self declared cool kids all snigger at and people clearly don't like that.

limitedperiodonly · 27/11/2022 11:12

I'm not a big fan of Matt Hancock. He is in fact a giant cock. I am a simple person with simple pleasures so I love watching him do things like putting his t-shirt with the phone number on display; diving in and then striding up the cyclone as if he actually was a superhero and his humblebrag (yet again) about getting a full set of stars for the team. And that was just last night.

I liked seeing the self-righteous celebs fail to put their money where their mouths were and really take him to task. But it's a lot easier to talk brave than to actually be it. I was not sorry to see them go.

Hancock was good at the challenges and took them with good grace and relish. That's the game. In IACGMOOH people who do the trials, and particularly those who are good at them stay in. If you can't accept that watch something else.

I liked seeing pouty people on here saying they wanted to give someone else a chance. Maybe some did but I don't think so. If Hancock turned out to be terrible and terrified at the trials they'd have been busily voting him to face another. I suspect it spoiled some people's fun that he was good and they didn't want to play any more.

It's revolting for some people on here and on Twitter and other sites to sneer at people for being stupid with the suggestion that they should have their votes taken away unless they use them the right way. Is that really what some people want? Yes, it is and that's more chilling than someone you don't like doing well in a gameshow.

PatientZorro · 27/11/2022 11:23

Just caught up on last night. Loved cyclone and I’m very pleased Mike the bore was voted out.

Matt Hancock all the way now. Get voting people!

Before the usual suspects rock up to upbraid and deride me for my audacity for voting in A GAME SHOW for someone they don’t approve of, let me save them the bother - I don’t care what you think, nor do many others judging by the voting. Bad luck 😂

MH for the win!

I do think the MH stride was accidentally amusing 😂 @LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet
I've given him my 5 votes

ZandathePanda · 27/11/2022 11:35

www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/nov/27/matt-hancock-im-a-celebrity-tiktok-votes-jungle

This thread has been weird all the ‘loving’ for MH but this article puts it in perspective.

There has been a concerted PR campaign (emails and TikToks) so I presume some of that has infiltrated here.

A previous poster said people were voting FOR MH because they are fed up of the media manipulating MH image. How wrong you were. You are falling for the PR supplying the media.

sashagabadon · 27/11/2022 11:37

I think the debate was over MH is no longer about MH really. It’s about control of the whole covid narrative with Brexit/ remain sprinkled on top.
some Tory politicians plus leftist media Twitter types are determined to lay all the blame at the door of individual politicians like MH and BJ.
media themselves have a case to answer, some media personalities behaved terribly imo responsible for a lot of the hyperbole at the start which panicked the health service and politicians.
we the public made our own demands too .
the covid response is a plague on all our houses imo.
but media would have loved to hang MH out to dry in particular. Has backfired which I am pleased about although Jill for the win!

Willmafrockfit · 27/11/2022 11:38

i dont watch tiktok

Willmafrockfit · 27/11/2022 11:38

i am anti the bitchy campmates

sashagabadon · 27/11/2022 11:40

That’s a guardian article though? They were full of nonsense about lifting covid restrictions etc . They were part of the problem imo,
tik Tok is pro Owen from my son’s account and I am managing to have my own opinion without tik tok influencing me 😁

PatientZorro · 27/11/2022 11:40

But the pro MH propaganda is dwarfed by the anti-Matt propagandists. They’re everywhere, including all across this thread. They’re sooooo cross that pesky people just won’t do as they are told by their “betters”we can see steam coming from their ears. It can’t be good for them.

ArcaneWireless · 27/11/2022 11:40

same wilma

bloodyplanes · 27/11/2022 11:41

@ZandathePanda the guardian? Really? A left leaning paper and you expect a non biased view ?

Willmafrockfit · 27/11/2022 11:43

there is a guardian article on my facebook feed, the comments are full of virtriol against him,,
the Sun/mirror and other news articles has so many people commenting how they like him Smile whatever the article says, people are hating the bitchy campmates

nadine dorries was first out,
i am sure this was the thought for MH

useitagain · 27/11/2022 11:43

Isn't the Guardian like the Daily Mirror

JaneJeffer · 27/11/2022 11:46

but I still don't understand wtf a serving politician is doing in a gameshow in the jungle, rather than doing his actual job?
This is what I don't get, that people don't care someone is on a game show instead of doing the job they were elected to do. Baffling.

I don't think people should allow Twitter to ruin this thread as it's got nothing to do with it.

limitedperiodonly · 27/11/2022 11:47

That Guardian theory is desperate even by the standards of The Guardian. Plus anyone who believes it.
