Let's face it, at this stage of the competition, it's obvious who the judges will save in the DO
Not so much as people start leaving , granted, but they have seen enough of the couples in rehearsals and on the night to know who deserves to be saved when there are still so many people left.

I think this weekend could have more of a shock leaving - Molly/Fleur/Kym must all be in danger of coming up against each other

Tony/Ellie S/Ellie T have another week at least I think in them

Will/Tyler/Hamza/Helen I think will also be ok.

I like fleur my kids love her radio breakfast show we went into it with her as our favourite but haven't voted for her for couple weeks now. Hope she has a good week this week though.

This is why they need to ditch the dance off or abide by it properly - I voted for Fleur 3x to try to save her but she had a glaring error in her dance off routine and they ought to be basing their decision solely based on that alone.
Same as Jimjams and Pondray - Jamelia had the better dance off. Either be clear you are looking at the series as a whole or that you are judging it on the one dance alone, for better, for worse.
It sounds awful but given that often the only way a weaker one will beat the other is for a sabotage Showgirls marbles on the dance floor moment - actually someone falling over and the underdog taking it would be great telly I agree!

It was Vito's mistake in the middle, not Fleur's, though wasn't it?

And James had a section where he completely forgot the steps, as PPs pointed out.

Yes it was, which is why I think judges didn't mention it.

Why was it Vito's fault? He was in position - she was meant to grab his right thigh but missed and had to lunch for his left then put her hand down?
Amy could have been lying to make him feel better but on ITT she insisted he had a perfect dance off, no mistakes, so it was out their hands as they could not have done anymore?

She wasn't facing him and had to rely on him being in the right place to catch her as she went backwards. Unless you're talking about another mistake.

One of the judges (Anton, I think) mentioned that both couples had made mistakes in their DOs and that both were better on the "Sat night" show. I assumed he said that as a way to justify saving Fleur given that we could all clearly see her make a mistake.

Fleur just always looks like she is trying to throttle Vito with her thighs. I was expecting her to be so much better.

It would not have been Vito's choreo - salsa is outside choreographer.
Vito wasn't catching her per se with his foot (like Jake and Janette).
He puts most of his knee and thigh behind her for the first one then when she comes back the second time onto him, she puts both arms round his right thigh - I am not sure he was in the wrong position - perhaps she went too far forward but instead of grabbing onto his right leg she has to go for the left one.

Vito's, the outside choreographer but not Fleur's choreo anyway.... I hated the music and styling so much that I didn't bother to rewatch. Halloween night mostly gives me a headache.

I don't think they should base it on the dance off alone,I think they should(and probably do despite what they say)go off all the future dances and the potential of the couple.
If Fleur had gone just because of that mistake I do not think think that would have been fair and I would much rather watch her preform than James.
Her Argentine Tango was brilliant.(though the music helped a lot)

Having said all of that I do believe she will be out in the next few weeks,Molly and Kym will probably go before her.

Not future-past dances

I admit that I often look up the spoiler on Sunday morning as I find the Sunday night show a bit dragged out and I'm impatient to find out who is eliminated.
I don't tell anyone though.

Really enjoyed Craig's reviews on ITT just now. He's said a lot of what I have been thinking. He is very knowledgeable and I so wish that stupid comedy booing would stop because he actually gives good critiques that the dancers can use to get better.

It would be good to know what the error was that they didn't show us so that people could know one way or another whether it should have counted as an error or was a prop thing because with it all being a bit wishy-washy the public are going to decide that she got to stay unfairly and that won't bode well for her future.

Obviously, overall she is by far the better dancer but it is down to the way you dance in the dance off, or that's what it's supposed to be anyway otherwise why bother with it at all? Stupid question, I know that the reason they have it is that if they just binned the person who was bottom of the list sometimes it would be one of the better dancers. I think that happened in the past, although my memory isn't that great on past Strictly stuff so I could be wrong.

I feel sorry for fleur, people are going to hear about this and rightly or wrongly think it’s unfair. So could mean she will get less votes. She obviously doesn’t have a lot of people voting for her already as she was in the bottom 2

Unfortunately I think it means Fleur will definitely be in the bottom 2 next week, whether that's fair or not.
