Any chance that storm in Yorkshire could cross the Pennines and get rid of some of the dead wood in Weatherfield?

So is that the end of Sean and his dentist? Not that I actually care, but oh, well, at least it's more plausible than Summer being a surrogate.

Sean is such an insufferable twat that, quite frankly, even if his love interest strangled puppies for fun at the weekends, I’d say cling onto him like superglue.

Did Summer have a mother at any point, did we kk ow she was adopted, not just by Billy? Where are the nasty grandparents?

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 03/11/2022 10:33

Her dad was Billy’s ex - I think he used a surrogate mother, but I couldn’t swear to it.

Deadringer · 03/11/2022 13:48

I thought Summer was adopted, but can't remember. I am surprised that she hasn't decided to look for her birth parents, it could be an interesting and believeable storyline.

AuntieDickhead · 03/11/2022 13:51

Summer mentioned her Dad 'picking' her which makes it sound like she was adopted.

I'd forgotten about the grandparents. Who were they? Her dad's parents?

bizzey · 03/11/2022 13:53

There was an issue with a grandmother.
Summer chose to stay with Billy as that was with in the will ?

Not sure who grandmother was though ?
Ex boyfriend mum ?

eggandonion · 03/11/2022 14:13

I wish she could have had a nice uncomplicated romance for a year and gone off to some non specific college. Guest appearances at Christmas permitted.
Could Billy not get Tallboys dad into the rehab place he was in, it seemed very good.

bizzey · 03/11/2022 15:30

Don't think tallboy/Arron is completely happy with the surrogacy thing .

Poor lad .

Agree ...he and her just need a sweet little romance ....not the drama .

eggandonion · 03/11/2022 16:08

He seems a kind soul. Does he have a mum hidden away?
Selling babies never ends well on Coronation Street, but they keep on doing it!

Deadringer · 03/11/2022 16:20

Yes her adoptive dad had a rather ghastly homophobic mother who wanted to take Summer in when he died. Tbh despite how awful she was I think Summer might have fared better with her, no doubt she would be living it up at Oxford now. and we would be spared her doom and gloom

bizzey · 03/11/2022 16:25

Not comfortable with this surrogacy story .

eggandonion · 03/11/2022 16:55

At least advising Summer will give Toyah something to do.
The right wing group seem to lounge around a lot.

I thought that said "advertising summer" which takes the surrogacy to a whole new sinister level!

Deadringer · 03/11/2022 17:57

Lets face it that dentist wouldn't look twice at Shaun.
I don't understand why people keep talking about surrogacy and Summer, it's an adoption that she is agreeing to, not a surrogacy situation.

icecreamgirl94 · 03/11/2022 19:19

It really isn’t great at the moment is it?
I feel like Imran’s exit and the non existent consequences that came after it were so bad it’s almost as if the actor had upset someone. I’m not for one second suggesting he had, I think it just shows how bad the writing is these days. Toyah has got away with murder and that seems to just be it, end of story.

DoubleBuggyDriver · 03/11/2022 21:26

After 14 years of watching (I started watching when I was 9🤣) I can no longer watch. All the stories are so unbearable that I can’t watch these 1hr episodes. It’s just awful. May the force be with you all!

Clawdy · 04/11/2022 08:08

Tyrone punching Nick was ridiculous. But then all the storylines at the moment are either ridiculous or boring - like the scaffolding. And why on earth are Summer and Aaron spending thousands on a violent abusive man? If the character was a sweet kind guy struggling with addiction, it would make far more sense.

Virgo1958 · 04/11/2022 11:00

It seems a bad message to give punching someone for a small issue
There never seems to be any consequences in Corrie but irl one punch can be fatal.

I agree, Tyrone is about as mild as they come, ridiculous. And yes, selling your baby to help an absolute shitbag of a man, wow.

BingBangBollocks · 04/11/2022 12:34

Can the three claustrophobic 'daddies' have just one line that doesn't contain the name Summer ?
Wholly inappropriate name for someone so dull

Lorrymum · 04/11/2022 12:48

I used to love Corrie but find my mind wandering when it is on.
So many characters I can't engage or empathise with. The writing is just dire. Characters have had personality transplants, Gail, Sally, Daisy. Gary moved form villainous murderer to knight in shining armours in a couple of months.
Perhaps the writing team need to get to school earlier in the morning!

Exactly

He doesn't deserve it

This. In real life, dentists wouldn't tend to date knicker-stitchers. Added to this, the obvious gap in attractiveness.
Harsh but true!

I’ve never met two single gay men who get as little action as Todd and Paul. I can understand that Billy, as a vicar, probably can’t be seen to be having regular hook-ups, but the other two never even so much as go up to Canal Street. The corpses at the undertakers have a better social life than Todd!

Exactly. In the old days it would have been the talk of the street - you’d have had Blanche and Norris in the public gallery reporting back daily, everyone would give their opinion and reaction to the verdict… apart from Leanne and Nick, the only people who even seemed to notice Toyah was up for murder were Alya and Zeedan - and that was only because Imran’s mom was such a bitch that the scriptwriters wanted to give him a family we actually gave a toss about, so suddenly reminded us that Zeedan had once been married to Imran’s dead lesbian sister.
