Any chance that storm in Yorkshire could cross the Pennines and get rid of some of the dead wood in Weatherfield?

I'm very confused. Did Tyrone say that John Snape was Jade's dad !! Help

He was.

I've had no personal experience of far right groups but was very surprised to see they stop their evil plotting to hold a Halloween party (complete with dressing up props)!

Im certain leo is in a coma in the neurological dept of the hospital. Nobody has informed the police that they have an unidentified patient. His paperwork was all with his suitcase, Steven has his phone. Craig will eventually discover him. He will recover, miraculously.
Or Eileen will have delayed symptoms and be in the hospital.
There must be a reason for current plots. Mustn't there. Really.

When they briefly showed his body, his eyes were open 😬 So I'd say it's unlikely

Yes, Jade is Hope's half sister.

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 01/11/2022 00:53

Does anyone else feel like the saga of the scaffolding has been going on longer than we’ve all been alive?

OP posts:
DahliaMacNamara · 01/11/2022 01:20

Yes, I bloody do, and what's more, I care a little less about it every single time.

Thank you. I don't think I knew there was a half sister (or perhaps I did once)

Maybe Leo was just stunned

A bit like the audience

I only just noticed the scaffolding last night!! Shows how much notice I take. Hmm

eggandonion · 01/11/2022 10:14

Leo was wide eyed in disbelief. Like the viewers.

Virgo1958 · 01/11/2022 10:51

Corrie honestly is the worst soap now with ridiculous storylines.

eggandonion · 01/11/2022 11:17

I can't understand why the experienced actors don't rebel, but i suppose they only see their own parts and not the whole episodes.
But it is crazy indeed.

It really has. Now you mention it, I wonder if there is a reason for it - is someone going to climb up it/fall off it? It just reminds me of the never-ending sinkhole which eventually provided (melo)drama. Maybe something to do with the Griff/Spider storyline that must be heading for a resolution sometime soon. Surely it isn't there just to delight us with Tracy's annoyance at flakey builders.

The only thing I'm enjoying at the moment is Daisy, who I couldn't stand at first but is now a really good character. That, and the fact they are giving Todd more screentime. Although sadly it also means more screentime for Summer.

I do wonder where they are going with Hope. She doesn't have the compensatory charm and humour that young David did, it's all a bit one note.

I suppose the problem is that, unless they’re happy to either retire or return to touring in the theatre, where do they go if they leave?

Years back there was quite the market for former Corrie and EE stars in the likes of The Bill, Casualty, Holby City and London’s Burning, or in ‘family dramas’ like Heartbeat, The Royal, Where the Heart is, Wild at Heart etc. Out of all those, only Casualty is left. The opportunity for older actors in particular just isn’t there. That’s how someone like Maureen Lipman, who at one point would have been considered ‘above’ soap, ends up going for the comfort of regular work in something like Corrie. As much as the producers painted it as a coup to get her on board, she’s admitted herself in interviews that her agent pitched it rather than vice versa. She’d told him she wanted to get back on television, but didn’t want to be filmed going travelling or to be a Loose Woman. Options are limited.

On the itv hub they are re running episodes of Crossroads, honestly the plot lines and sets on Corrie are pretty much this level now.

eggandonion · 01/11/2022 14:39

But, for example, jenny or Sally, they must wonder at the ridiculous plots. Jonny and his ms could have been interesting, older man, younger woman, chronic condition, suicide of son. But instead it turned into prison and sinkhole...
After all that Jenny didn't deserve to lose another man a year later. Can actors query what's happening their character?
We need more nice Sunday evening cosiness for them to move to.

Crossroads was full of wobbling sets!

It’s actual shite right now, my God. I think I may drop it in the new year tbh

SpinCityBlues · 02/11/2022 20:06

Oh goodness me, this really is so appalling I don't think I can watch it. I can't take the wonky acting and the focus on such badly written scenes and characterisations any more.

TellingBone · 02/11/2022 20:23

Hawp has got the most lovely blue eyes.

And that's the only positive thing I can say about the current shit-show.

lollipoprainbow · 02/11/2022 21:09

Jees it was like amateur dramatics tonight, are the scriptwriters a couple of 16 year olds ?!

Cudz · 02/11/2022 21:48

Max is getting on my nerves "yeh everything....he says is like....yeh...mmmm yeh ok". Always follows the same bloody rhythm!!! Just such an unnatural actor!

AuntieDickhead · 02/11/2022 23:10

It's just total crap at the moment. I watched a couple of episodes of Eastenders this week, it was more exciting than Corrie even though I haven't watched it for 6 years and only recognised half the characters (and they all seem to have wife swapped) so I didn't know what was going on half the time!

DahliaMacNamara · 03/11/2022 00:34

So is that the end of Sean and his dentist? Not that I actually care, but oh, well, at least it's more plausible than Summer being a surrogate.

JemimaTab · 03/11/2022 01:18

I don’t get why the producers/writers keep putting the dreadful misery-guts Summer front and centre. She’s awful and her father/step-dads are far too involved with her personal and sex life, in a way that is bordering on creepy. Can’t they send her on a 10-year internship to Antarctica or something, to give us all a break from the relentless moaning misery? Maybe Billy could go with her.
