Any chance that storm in Yorkshire could cross the Pennines and get rid of some of the dead wood in Weatherfield?

I know!! But why didn’t they know what sort of thing she liked - she’d picked her own dress for her other wedding a few months ago…

Iwantacampervan · 26/12/2022 19:01

Not one car parked in the street as the taxi drove away, Maria's campaigning has obviously worked.

How can Audrey not know about the her own house being remortgaged. She would see some paperwork

Where does Stephen actually live

DahliaMacNamara · 26/12/2022 22:39

He lives with Audrey, doesn't he? I'm sure there was some reference to that today. So no doubt he can conveniently be in position to scoop up any revealing paperwork that arrives in the post.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/12/2022 11:08

I'm just watching the catch up

Fizz opens the fridge freezer to say she's going to defrost the turkey . If the top one (tiny) is the freezer then a turkey wouldn't fit in there . If its the fridge then her Christmas Fridge Photo would look like mega-jenga

Mary whittering on about the wilting peonies , and Ramones magnificent peony that gave her a week of pleasure . Xmas Hmm too try hard (no pun intended)

Fizz's car breaking down (yes I know it can happen but no phone etc)
Chris comes wandering along looking very like Faher Christmas in red with his little glasses and sweer little face

The snippy registrar - do the wedding or say "No" . Don't arse it up and complain.

Sally is bitching about Tim getting fat , not fitting his jacket , wearing baggy joggers . If he was saying it to her , thee'd be an uproar.

The coffin-sofa was Hmm and so predicable .

Todd is so after Sean's hunky dentist , Todds a snake who has form for muscling in and breaking couples up .

But funny when he was trying to get the sofa out and Dylan said "No they must've built the house round it" Xmas Grin

Abby looks bloody fab!

Surprised she allows him to sponge off her, wouldn't she have noticed he never puts his hand in his pocket

Typical gaslighting behaviour towards Gail from him last night

NCTDN · 27/12/2022 16:53

And fizz then walked to the phone box even though whilst walking with that man, two people passed her that would have had phones!

Yes my DH said the same - two walkers and a cyclist he said , would've had phones . But then we wouldn't have had Fizz'n'Chris's little chat .

I watched up to when Chesney and Gemma were talking about them marrying

eggandonion · 27/12/2022 18:34

No sign of Alina and tiny Tyrone yet. Or Leo.

Clawdy · 27/12/2022 18:37

Who's Chris??

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/12/2022 18:40

Clawdy · 27/12/2022 18:37

Who's Chris??

Wasn't that the walker in red (like Chris Chringle) who was taking Fizz to the phone (or did I make that up Xmas Blush )

TellingBone · 28/12/2022 20:08

Ugh. A surfeit of Steven. I had hoped his comeuppance would take place over Christmas but no. Will no one rid us of this turbulent beast?

Same goes for Griff. And I'm dreading that yet another gangster storyline will ensue from Jacob's Dad's reappearance. Turgid stuff.

Rosieisposy · 28/12/2022 20:12

Glory got a mention! She must be nearly two but no sight nor sound of her …

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 28/12/2022 20:27

Invisible like 3 of the quads.

Sick of Stephen jesus christ just fuck off will you.

Where is Alina??

eggandonion · 28/12/2022 20:53

Mike and Esther have a very posh house. At least they live in it. Why is George making beans on toast in Eileen's, he has a nice house.
Todd is a rascal..

Honeyroar · 28/12/2022 21:58

And Stephen just happened to be standing there AGAIN when Jenny gets a phone call from Leo’s dad!

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 28/12/2022 22:29

For a man with no money he lives in that pub.

trulyunruly01 · 28/12/2022 22:32

Glory was under the coffee table playing with her pressies on Xmas Day.
Literally under the coffee table, with Aggie on the floor peering under at her.

Deadringer · 28/12/2022 23:12

It was lovely to see all the children, I suppose they couldn't avoid it at Christmas.

Rosieisposy · 29/12/2022 00:16

I missed the Christmas Day episode and not sure I can be bothered to watch it …

I don’t think Alina will show up now. More likely her death will be announced and a toddler / preschool Pop will show up with a Manchester accent despite being raised in Romania.

EachandEveryone · 29/12/2022 00:24

😃😃😃

i havent seen any of it this week and I dont think i can be bothered now

Violetmarmalade · 29/12/2022 00:50

Having watched Corrie for over forty years, I finally gave up earlier this year. These storylines are just ridiculous and it seems like they’ve changed the whole programme away from warm, community driven episodes to constant murders, disasters and scams. What’s happened to the humour, the gentleness and the observational comedy that was at the heart of coronation street? Now I content myself with Classic Corrie and reading the latest news on here. Also there’s a brilliant YouTube channel that posts four minute reviews of each episode which saves me the bother of sitting through far too long hour episodes.

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 29/12/2022 17:09

Am I the only one not bothered that we don’t see much of the children? I know it’s not very realistic, but what does it actually add in terms of entertainment value? Also, from a practical point of view, child actors need chaperones and tutors. It’s only really worth having them there if they need to be there for the storyline, rather than just sitting there eating sausage and beans.

eggandonion · 29/12/2022 20:19

They need to remember them...Sarah never has problems with the childminder Gary never has to buy a birthday card, nobody ever has a splitting headache from recorder practice.
