Charlie Brooks has made the Janine character her own and I compare her to Larry Hagman of ' JR ' fame ( from the old American soap Dallas ) who could also have people feeling sorry for him sometimes despite being a nasty manipulative narc!

It's always the same thing isn't it? Alfie makes promises to his children or child and then there are a series of unfortunate events to conspire against him.
