Rune actually reminds me more of Dan in that he's a big ball of energy. I think if he didn't have his tennis he'd be climbing the walls! He's very nice on Instagram. I really took to him after he posted about his bad behaviour during the Rudd match and how he's trying to behave better

The rain is biblical here. I'm afraid it's going to affect the satellite dish and therefore my tennis/Rafa viewing.

I remember my first day back after DS1 a colleague kept saying how much I must miss him until someone else told her to shut up (all the emotions)

Jane I had a 'back to work' interview, and was doing ok, the hr manager said something really innocuous and not even connected to ds and I just burst into tears and had to go to the loo. It's not really like me.
(Couldn't wait to go back when I had dd1 was looking forward to 5 minutes peace!)

DD2 is now 12- went on mat leave- have never been able to go back to work since...

Jane I do think Rune will calm down. People forget just how bad even Roger actually was at times when he was a junior/ first on tour. Til he gave his head a wobble, and realised he had to pull himself together. He still had his moments over the years, but he 'grew up'. (Unlike Djok).
Rune seems lovely and he's young. It's easy to forget that actually, most of them are - the bulk of them are now between 19 and 25. There's a whole bunch who are 24/25.

Rafa and Djok are the 'oldies' now.

So, Jack and Dan are out- Big Foe not playing that well really today, though.

Daniil and De Minaur are due to start soon.

Fruit bowl looking a bit sparse today- on a table with what looks very much like a plastic Ikea lamp I bought dd2 a couple of years ago. .

Still can't see any figs.

I must say, I'm disappointed. Paris is supposed to be chic. It's all dark walls and poor quality fruit, this.

I think we've got Paris Syndrome which is an actual thing Japanese tourists get when they're disappointed by the reality of Paris versus their expectation!

Jane it's definitely a thing.

I got it with Stratford Upon Avon, when I was a kid. I was expecting it to be like Camberwick Green- you know, Shakespeare's house, conveniently next to everything, all round a nice neat green. All nice and handy. It's all spread out and miles to walk (and I live in Manchester, ffs).

I was bored by Stratford.

In a concession to DH having COVID I’ve allowed him to have the heating on in the day! The sooner he gets back to work the better!

Ds bought himself a big fleecy fake oodie thing from Amazon and hasn't taken it off for day. He's really skinny and pale, and it's a big fluffy black thing.

I remember we ended up ditching Stratford and going to Warwick Castle. I liked Warwick Castle better(even if it was a bit of a Madame Tussaud's /theme park, with all the wax works).

I was going to buy DH a fake oodie but he does quite a lot of video calls/meetings when he’s WFH so the uncle fester look might not go down too well

It’s quite rare for me to feel the cold (the joys of being 53!) so we quite often have disagreements about putting the heating on - I did think it would be a bit churlish to not let him have the heating on when he’s got COVID though!

Fizzy I'm always the last to cave with the heating. DD2 has been complaining od the cold- to be fair, her room is not very warm. But nor does she wear many clothes in the house .

I always know when dh has a work meeting because suddenly the tatty jumper he always wears gets launched and he throws on a shirt.

He was meant to be in the office today- when he logged on at 10am- only 3 people out of his team of 10 had gone in, so he's not the only one who is ill.

I have climbed up to the top of Warwick castle. I don't remember much about it apart from thinking how the fuck am I going to get down

I had to leave to pick up dd2, and saw Daniil getting a bit cross at the end of the match.

Just saw Daniil shaking hands at the net. He won't be using that racquet again! It's not the racquet's fault he lost the match on a double fault

I like Warwick Castle. It's suitably impressive! Watched jousting the last time we went

Just got in to see that Carlos had a break, and Nishioka has broken back.
