I'm prepared to accept Alfie back for a short time provided when he leaves he takes Kat with him so that Phil and Sharon can get back together. Phil and Kat are just not right together.

I know the intention was good but I found the Frankie/schoolboys scene super-cringey, one minute the head is totally 'but what can we do?' The next he's 'oh my god what an inspirational speech, no one will ever harm another woman now'!

I really wish the writers would stop bringing back Alfie. The stories are always shit. He never has any luggage. It's boring and pointless.

The Frankie storyline is stupid because there is no way her character would have done the things she did when that man was harassing her. I love Eastenders but I hate it when they make people do things they wouldn't normally do just so they can make them fit into a storyline.

I seem to remember liking Alfie many moons (see what I did there?) ago when he first joined EE.

I think he started to grate when they decided to give him serious storylines so we then had Sad Alfie who was unpleasant and set fire to the house (Kat's scars from that seem to have disappeared btw!!).

Incidentally, the mum of a former work colleague was in hospitality at the EE studios and she had very good things to say about Shane Ritchie. Lovely man apparently, very generous to the staff. Shame his character is such a dick.

I can't get over how Shane Ritchie treated Colleen Nolan all those years ago. Affairs with co stars and having to do those cheesy ads and game shows to pay off their divorce settlements. Long time ago now.
However, I'm glad to hear his good with the fans, which is also important as so many celebs are not ( sadly , if mumsnet is to be believed !)
Kats scars have disappeared. That fire was awful , the character does tend to mess up a lot when he comes back!

Shane Ritchie told a story how he met up with Tom Cruise once and they both had to try and avoid the press. Tom thought it was because it was him , but apparently it was because SR's affair with a co star in 'Grease the musical ' in the west end had broken and they were after him.

Tho didn’t Colan have an affair on her next marriage possibly with Ray and now divorceed

I had a bit of a soft spot for one of the moodier Moon boys years ago. Was it Jake? Not sure if he's dead now. Didn't Alfie have a brother much younger than him? He was in it with his gran? My memory isn't great so I can't remember. I wonder if they are setting up all these Moons coming back.

I'm not sure why Alfie is back if that isnt the case. He just pops in when Shane Richie has run out of money and he goes again. I don't like it when they bring back old characters (unless it's Sean Slater!) when they fail to use the ones they have already. They bring in new people who have one storyline and then they leave again and we never get to know them. I'm guessing Mitch's nephews won't be in it long, which is a shame. Eve is very likeable but hasn't really had a big storyline yet. We have the new doctor lady and I don't know even her name! I hope Kheerats cousin stays in, but it's looking doubtful already since he bumped off his dad within a couple of weeks.

Nobody cares about the one who died ( can't remember his name ? )
His wife is a GP and hasn't tried to contact him
Sometimes the stories left hanging are infuriating.

I do feel they bring in people to facilitate big storyline for the main stars, but if we got to know the 'supporting' cast better it would have more effect.
