I liked Alfie first time round but it's been a case of diminishing returns, he's just a huge annoyance now. You can sense Kat weakening though. I think we're supposed to think he's an annoyance with a heart of gold, but I don't.

I did wonder if they were going to pair Alfie up with Linda but I don't think they're going there, he's back for Kat.

I love the way they have woven Stacey and Eve into the Panesar storyline. At least Kheerat is onside now with Suki. I love Suki, she's 80% evil but the actress manages to give her enough vulnerability and complexity to make me root for her.

Given Nish's history I assume he's a shortish term character brought in to create havoc. I know the Square is full of murderers and arsonists but I doubt he'll be redeemed. I think Ravi could be redeemed, depending on where it goes from here.

I thought Kat and/or Alfie died in that awful spin-off series where they went to Ireland to find a lost relative (child?). I wish they'd left both characters in Ireland / dead! Neither is a good actor - she shouts all her lines and is quite wooden and he's just over the top stuck in 1970's Butlins!

They left both as cliffhangers at the end of the series but both reappeared in Eastenders eventually. Although I think that was when Mo said Kat was dead and organised a wake/find raising for her funeral.
