Has anyone seen this advertised? Its written by Sharon Horgan and it’s where four sisters plot to kill the abusive husband of their other sister. Says it’s a comedy/drama. Irish. Looks hilarious!

I've not seen this advertised and nothing coming up in my VM search. What channel is it on?

SashaMannDeservedBetter · 15/08/2022 12:15

On Apple TV

Anyone watch this ?

OP posts:
hockeygrass · 20/08/2022 20:46

I would watch if I had an Apple TV
3 month free pass!

Sonnex · 20/08/2022 21:27

I've watched the first 2 episodes and am completely hooked. The husband is just so foul I'd have also killed him if he existed IRL 🤣

SittingontheSidelines · 20/08/2022 22:10

Just watched the first episode. Going to be very good I think.

SashaMannDeservedBetter · 20/08/2022 23:47

A agree, the husband needs to die. Don’t understand why nobody called him out at the Xmas dinner though. I would have had to say something!

I am enjoying this

Netaporter · 22/08/2022 10:34

I loved it. My guess is that they have 3 failed attempts (and therefore insurance claims) before they finally bump him off. Brilliant casting. Claes Bang is awesome.

shumway · 22/08/2022 10:55

Enjoyed first two episodes. Annoying having to wait for more.

SashaMannDeservedBetter · 22/08/2022 21:37

I agree I wish I could binge it. Wonder why Claes Bang always plays bad guys? He’s good at it though. I feel so bad for his wife as she seems to really love him. I think he’s gay.

Sorry to be clear I mean the character not the actor 😂

I'm finding it a bit slow, and annoying just switched it off half way through 2nd episode 🤷🏼‍♀️ thought I'd love it

RoundandRound123 · 23/08/2022 10:40

@SashaMannDeservedBetter I think it’s great so far, I like that Claes Bang’s character has a few seemingly redeeming moments where he’s “sweet”, where you can see why Anne Marie Duff’s character might think that he’s not all bad. He’s not the out and out psychopath abuser you usually see portrayed- I think almost every woman over 30 will find the dynamic relatable, having to look on as some woman they care about has the life drained out of her by some controlling prick.
What’s interesting to me is that Claes Bang is more appealing and likeable as Dracula 😂
Sharon Horgan is fantastic as always, and her writing is spot on.

I was very confused when I heard the descriptions of this as it sounded so familiar, how could it be new but then realised its based on a Flemmish drama 'Clan' which Ive seen and lived. Id imagine Horgan style would really suit and enhance it, but no Apple tv here unfortunately

“Which I’ve seen and lived”! @MILLYmo0se Is your brother in law still alive to tell the tale?!
I’ve heard the Flemish version is really good

MILLYmo0se · 23/08/2022 16:07

Lol, well even by my standards that is an unfortunate autocorrect! My phone drives me nots, lovely =lively, loved= lived, lockdown =lickdown not matter how many times I correct it🙄
No BILs in my life, though the way DP is going lately I may be looking for dispatch ideas!!

@MILLYmo0se 😂 autocorrect gets us all eventually! If you’re DP is anything like the male lead in Bad Sisters your feelings would be understandable

SashaMannDeservedBetter · 23/08/2022 19:10

@RoundandRound123 Claes had a certain charm as Dracula but I’m struggling with him here 😂. He seems really sweet with his daughter though

I’m watching it though gritted teeth- finding it excruciating! I did have a very controlling bf about 25 yrs ago, so it’s a bit triggering. Am definitely going to carry on with it as I can’t work out how it’s going to end.

Clan was shown as The Out-Laws I think.

I thought I might have seen it as part of Walter Presents but can't find it.

Would love to watch it again!

SashaMannDeservedBetter · 26/08/2022 15:37

spoilers ahead !!

to be honest I don’t think JP was that bad this week, episode 3. I think Ursula was in the wrong and her husband had a right to know. He even told her to finish it OR he would tell him. He at least gave her the chance and when he saw she was still involved he told him or tried to (the pic was underhand though )

Tormundsbeard · 26/08/2022 22:57

OMG I am loving this series. JP is so infuriating. Everything Sharon Horgan does is great. I am finding the insurance guy annoying and unlikeable though.

PasTropCher · 26/08/2022 23:00

I was very upset to find at the end of Ep. 2 last night that it’s an old-fashioned weekly release, rather than everything being dropped all at once.

But yes, I’m very much enjoying it so far.

Balloonsaresqueaky · 27/08/2022 01:08

JP is annoying but I find him amusing
