Has anyone seen this advertised? Its written by Sharon Horgan and it’s where four sisters plot to kill the abusive husband of their other sister. Says it’s a comedy/drama. Irish. Looks hilarious!

Sorry I have only just got back - yes the suitcase JP put his dad in and threw in the large garden pond.
it is nice to have a series though that finished with a proper ending. That seems to happen much less and is frustrating.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 14/10/2022 23:14

Satisfying indeed Smile

That was really good. I wonder when it will be on terrestrial TV.

Oh and yes the music was brilliant!

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 14/10/2022 23:21

A very fitting end. I really enjoyed it.

Wotagain · 14/10/2022 23:46

What a Very satisfactory series, loved every single thing about it, with a splendid ending.
I’d love to hang out with those sisters!

JacquelineCarlyle · 14/10/2022 23:51

Me too @Wotagain

No surprise he raped Eva but that did make me cry a lot - awful for her to have held that in for so long. He really was vile.

Thought it was a good ending!

grannyjacob · 15/10/2022 05:53

Loved the ending, especially involving Roger in it. Good acting, great music, maybe an episode or two too long but overall, a really enjoyable series.

AmeliaLila · 15/10/2022 08:18

I loved the ending ! Bit sceptical how little Grace was able to overpower his big fat ass but other than that it all ties up nicely.

TMC32 · 15/10/2022 09:20

My husband cancelled Apple TV in an economy drive and I missed the last episode! Would anyone be able to let me know what happened in the end please??

SashaMannDeservedBetter · 15/10/2022 12:34

Grace killed him in the end by strangling him in the bedroom after he told her he raped Eva and staged it to look like an accident on his motorbike where his scarf was caught in the wheel and strangled him.

And Roger helped her with the motorbike, Matt worked it out but didn't say anything- in exchange Grace dropped the insurance claim and sold up and moved in with Eva instead.

I hope for your husband’s sake you don’t have any sisters

We’ve been watching it as a family and DD was at a party Friday night so I’ve been avoiding this thread until last night. I loved it! so satisfying when a series wraps up properly. Poor Eva. And I think when provoked in the way Grace was, you can gain the strength of a 1000 men.

casting was fabulous.

mrstea301 · 16/10/2022 09:23

I wanted to come back as me and DH have been having an interesting debate about the ending - I loved it and wouldn't change it, thought it was good and v sad, and liked that JP saying that Eva seduced him was the final straw that Grace couldn't overlook - she KNEW that he was in the wrong and didn't accept his lies about the situation.

However, DH thinks that it was a bit heavy handed for the end, and JP messing with her work / Gabriel was equivalent to what he was doing to the other sisters. He thinks that the final straw for Grace should have been her realising what JP did to Roger, and then Grace should have plotted out with Roger what was going to happen. I'm now wondering if that was considered as a plot line, as it would explain why Roger was in Wicklow (which I did think was a bit strange!) - he and Grace could have arranged that as a last opportunity for JP to do the right thing, then when he didn't, Grace killed him and Roger was there to help?

Although maybe a reason for changing it was so that it didn't look so premeditated by Grace and is therefore more forgivable.

It's interesting though as we've been having proper discussions about it - you'd think we knew them! 😂

SashaMannDeservedBetter · 16/10/2022 10:02

Good theory! Grace must have known she couldn’t have moved him alone, he looks like he would weigh a ton.

XanaduKira · 16/10/2022 10:40

Interesting theory @mrstea301 but for me, there's no way would Roger be the final straw for her given what he'd already done to her sisters & she'd let slide.

It was only her fierce love for Eva and knowing that her sisters love her just as fiercely, could she no longer turn a blind eye to his evilness - she knew there was no way Eva would seduce him, so he obviously raped her and she couldn't let that go.

I also agree that raw strength can come from that level of anger and the angle she was at would have also helped.

duvetdrama · 16/10/2022 12:09

I finished it last night and loved it...the casting, music, scenery. Just brilliant. I wondered if they would make it look like suicide...as it was mentioned at the start there'd be no pay out for foul play or suicide?
The scene at the end with them all round the table with Eva telling her sisters about what JP did to her was so moving 😕

catfunk · 16/10/2022 19:30

Just finished it, absolutely brilliant ending, I cried at the very end scene with them all finally swimming together.
I also thought JP's dead face was brilliant. So darkly comical.

SashaMannDeservedBetter · 16/10/2022 21:44

Has anyone looked on Claes Bangs Instagram? His latest video is so funny. I think he’s such a talent.

OP posts:
JustDanceAddict · 23/10/2022 13:55

Loved it!
very watchable and some really talented actors. Loved Eve Hewson & Bibi and Claes! He was sexier in Dracula though - he’s a very good looking man for 55 (same age as my dh - 🤔!!)?

AmeliaLila · 23/10/2022 16:12

@JustDanceAddict Why do you think he was sexier in Dracula out of interest? Yeah he’s not at all shabby for 55.

pinksunsets · 23/10/2022 23:26

Absolutely shocked to discover Claes is Danish. Thought he was British, his accent is so good (no, I've not seen him in anything else).

Dracula (as a character) is mesmerising and irresistible. Claes Bang is a good actor and plays the part well. Especially managing to do that whilst covered in blood, climbing out of a wolves body and naked.

His character in this is repulsive and, although still obviously not bad on the eye, I could have quite happily joined the band of sisters in wanting the character dead. Shows what a good actor he is as he was so revolting.

ZandathePanda · 23/10/2022 23:50

Wolf’s body (autocorrect)

AmeliaLila · 24/10/2022 18:58

Ok, I quite fancy him in Bad sisters I get that I’m alone on it. Yes he was an arse but Dracula was a serial killer..
