How do the police know that people are going in to his cell to beat Phil up though? And why are they beating him up?

I'm lost with the whole story line about Phil and the hence men and the detective and the burner phone and well , all of it really
It's been brewing , but not sure why or who is behind it or who any of these men are.
They seem to get visiting orders within hours , would be interesting to know if this is how that works! I bet it doesn't.
The police want names , might be easier to try elsewhere maybe ?.. he ain't a grass.

i can't remember now it escalated with Phil being "told off" for not giving the knife wielder an immediate alibi and being scheduled for death. He got the burner phone from someone else which was apparently not allowed though.

If the burner phone came from the guy who was interested in Kheerat does that mean he is maybe in league with the police? He could easily have passed the info about the attack on.

It's a typical EE storyline which is all over the shop ( or the cell in this case ) and makes zero sense ( even to the writer )
