It's was funny when they said they heard thunder- so did I. Then I realised the patio was open, and it was a plane Grin

Grin Loved the it's not just Iga's forehand joke

Coco is making me well up. Wish she could get a hug right now. Iga was unbeatable.

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 15:23

I sometimes think Coco is too calm and needs to get more fired up but I do appreciate her non-screechiness

Poor Coco she never really stood a chance there. Always horrid to see them upset when they lose but she just was in a different league to Iga today.

Congratulations to Iga - she was amazing! Very well deserved. I love her gracious, calm demeanour and that she then just explodes with delight at the end of the match. 😊

Raahh · 04/06/2022 15:25

There is no shame in that loss for Coco, at all, players with more experience have been totally blown off court by Iga over the past few weeks.

Iga does make me laugh though, she is such a lovely character.

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 15:26

I love Coco's mum's sparkly Paris t-shirt.

Some very dishy men there. Coco is doing a lovely genuine speech. What a sweetheart

Fizzywinegum · 04/06/2022 15:36

Well done Iga! Poor Coco but I’m sure her time will come

We made it through security and a delayed plane only to find that we can’t log onto Eurosport here so I probably won’t be able to watch the final tomorrow - disaster - I blame Brexit! Shock

On the plus side I’m sat by the pool with a G&T but I really want to watch the tennis tomorrow!

ChessieFL · 04/06/2022 15:37

How on earth does Coco play tennis with nails that long?! I wouldn’t be able to do anything with those!

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 15:37

If everyone could stop making me cry that would be great.

Fizzy Well done for getting out of Manchester Grin

Not so great about the tennis!

Raahh · 04/06/2022 15:40

Jane I cry at the drop of a hat these days.

I am not sure I will get through tomorrow

Iga's speeches are funny.

JeansAndJumper · 04/06/2022 15:41

Aw, Iga is a lovely young woman too. Really there are some fabulous women on the tour currently. I'm loving women's tennis right now after a few years where I much preferred the men's.

Fizzywinegum · 04/06/2022 15:41

Should have stayed at home Grin

It’s now DH’s mission to find out how I can watch the tennis - he says it’s like this every holiday Grin

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 15:45

Fizzy** do you think my SkyGo would work out there for you?

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 04/06/2022 16:00

Jane I think we have sky go but not sure if it works abroad any more

Mama1980 · 04/06/2022 16:12

I don't think sky go works abroad anymore at least my account didn't in Denmark a few weeks ago (brexit is so annoying!) but it might vary from country to country.

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 16:30

But I'm in the EU. I'll PM you Fizzy

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 04/06/2022 16:46

Thank you Jane - I’ll give it a try!

Raahh · 04/06/2022 18:15

The plot thickens re- Rafa at Wimbledon- his agent is now saying that the news agency that broke the story he was not playing have got it wrong, and he does intend to try to play. He is on the listings for the tournament, but I really would not be surprised if he announces after tomorrow that he won't.

I hope you figure out how to watch tomorrow FIzzy- if not, enjoy your holiday!

I'm nervous about tomorrow, mainly because of how tough the matches have been for Rafa so far- and this match should be straightforward (they've never played each other in competition - they've practiced with each though ). And played golf Grin

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 18:34

I'm trying not to think about it until tomorrow Raahh. It's been quite a stressful tournament on the men's side!

I hope Rafa does go to Wimbledon if only to see him shopping in Tesco Grin

Hoping to get to see the Queen's concert later. Duran Duran are taking part - squee!!

OP posts:
Raahh · 04/06/2022 18:57

Duran Duran Grin

My mum posted a picture on her FB of me and and my sister, in 1977, at a 25th jubilee street party. My gran had knitted us matching jumpers with crowns on. I was 5.5, my sisiter was nearly 4. 25 years later, my niece wore one of the jumpers in 2002, at the 50th Jubilee (she was 3).

My mum still has the jumpers- but unfortunately we don't have anyone around that they fit Grin. They have lasted very well!

I'm not sure Rafa will ever master the Tesco self checkout Grin

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 19:20

That sounds really cute Raahh

Raahh · 04/06/2022 19:28

I remember the day in 1977 like it was yesterday, Jane- there was an evening fancy dress competition at a working men's club in town. I can't remember my exact costume, it was half nightwear/half daywear or something--my sister was a pea pod. Billy Joe, from across the road, popped all her 'pea' balloons.

The 'winner' was a 16 year old neighbour dressed as a bunny girl . Funny, that Grin

We haven't done anything for the Jubilee. I hope my dc don't feel they have missed out on such 'memories' Grin

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 19:34

That gave me a right laugh Raahh Grin
