I'm not very excited about the women's final, I l probably want Iga to win but don't really mind either way.
Not good from Sasha that he believes the injury to be serious.

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 13:51

Poor Sascha I'm really gutted for him.

I can't see Iga being beaten unless someone steals her magic notebook.

Love that cartoon! I don’t really mind who wins today, it would be good to see Iga get another grand slam, and match Venus’s record of 35 consecutive wins, but it would also be fantastic for Coco to win her first slam. I do think Iga will win.

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 14:01

Alex is so funny Grin

I’m not surprised Sascha’s injury is serious, it looked so nasty and it was clear how much pain he was in. I hoped it wouldn’t be though.

Wimbledon is going to feel very odd this year. No Rafa, no Roger, no Williamses. At least Andy will be there!

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 14:07

Dan! Don't forget Dan Grin

The women have got the better weather- it's going to be raining again tomorrow.

I do feel sorry for Sascha-if it's bad, it could put him out for the rest of the year, like Rafa last year. I read a report saying, he might not need surgery, but I'm not sure we will get the full story yet. He's a tall man- all that height and weight on an injured ankle, it will take time to heal, whatever the issue.

I really like Iga, she's been playing brilliantly for months now, this win would be the icing on the cake.
I think Coco has been playing really well- and I love her attitude. It's probably a good thing she didn't win big at 15- and has had time to get experience.
It will hopefully not be a 2 set bagel type Iga match- I'm hoping it will be closer than that- but I do think Iga will win.

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 14:14

What is up with Iga's shoelaces?

OP posts:
Raahh · 04/06/2022 14:21

Ok- so Iga is not messing about.

ChessieFL · 04/06/2022 14:35

Just had to pop out to see the Red Arrows fly past. Came back to see I’ve missed three games! Iga really isn’t hanging around. Glad to see Coco’s got a game.

Raahh · 04/06/2022 14:42

This is a definite contrast to yesterday's semi final!

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 14:50

Ooh!

Maybe we could have a match on our hands now...

ChessieFL · 04/06/2022 15:04

Or not…

Raahh · 04/06/2022 15:08

It was short lived, Chessie.

JeansAndJumper · 04/06/2022 15:11

Just switched on, Iga is such a powerhouse of a player. Poor Coco isn't taking her chances here.

ChessieFL · 04/06/2022 15:15

I think it’s clear where this is going now. Shame Coco couldn’t do more with that advantage she had at the start of the second set.

JeansAndJumper · 04/06/2022 15:19

Yep, this is it now

Raahh · 04/06/2022 15:20

It's was funny when they said they heard thunder- so did I. Then I realised the patio was open, and it was a plane Grin

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2022 15:21

Don't cry Coco Sad

Well done Iga

OP posts:
ChessieFL · 04/06/2022 15:21

Oh, poor Coco

Raahh · 04/06/2022 15:21

Well done Iga- she has earned this, after winning so much this season.
Coco is upset- but she did brilliantly to get there. And she has the doubles final to come!
