OMG the Blue Orchid - that brings back memories! I was a Croydon girl (more for work and going out) but I rarely went to the Blue Orchid (a few nights out there), even back then I knew Croydon was a bit scummy (tongue in cheek).

A bit like Sharon really. She gets turfed out of Phil's, has a few struggles but then seems somehow to get her house/flat/the gym and magically has childcare for Albie. No single mother I know has her amount of luck!

You occasionally see the 'poor' like Karen Taylor (a real pastiche of a single, struggling mother) struggling with money or someone more well off like Gray etc at Stedman Bank (or transferring money) or Denise at the food bank but then they magically find their money trees and ta-da, no more issues!

Maybe the animal unions got involved and told the bbc that they needed more treats or bones so they capped the air time allowed on screen !

I'm fond of cats as I have one (adopted me). I fear that any cat would be hard to train to appear on TV, and would probably end up run over in EE!

Everyone was praising Chelsea for working ; this was good , but let's face it she works two minutes walk from home and making one signature cocktail isn't really that hard : Whitney was on hand to do the childcare too under their new agreement. Not everyone has this luck ( as Sharon did too!) they do make it look too easy. I know it's not real, but many people manage it and don't have any of these perks or have to travel to work or pay a huge amount for a nursery etc.
I suppose it's to hi light the childcare struggles , but it's still not that realistic. The mortgage on that house must be in the thousands too.
At least Rainie looks frazzled at times doing it all and she has stuart and the Nan about. Although stuart is more of a hindrance.

I thought exactly the same thing. On the one hand it's great he's admitting he doesn't love the baby but surely people knowing his medical history he could do a complete 360 degrees and really go off on one. And I know EE love dramatic storylines but I think harming/hurting a baby whilst in some sort of psychotic episode (yes I know mental health etc) isn't a nice storyline at all, for a family soap.
