No, maybe a cat would be a bad idea come to think ; especially round that bit of the square where people are run over a lot

I used to like the old style cat on Corrie whenever I saw it do it's walk over the roof/houses area! I never watched Corrie though, just sometimes watched it and saw the cat!

A cat wouldn't last 5 minutes in EE - either Stacey or Peter would snap it up for their menus (joking!) or it'd be run over. Is anyone getting the vibe that Peter is turning into a really nasty character? Not a bad actor though.

the80sweregreat · 22/06/2022 12:58

Peter is horrible , I totally understand his problem with Bobby , but he is like it with everyone else too. Grumpy and nasty.
He'll probably fall for Dana.
He is one of the better actors
Rocky and Eve both need storylines too as they seem bit parts.
I wonder if Zack will ever open his restaurant , or has that ship sailed now?
I hope Sam goes too , she annoys me. Maybe she'll run off back to Spain with any luck.

iknowimcoming · 22/06/2022 13:29

There was a cat a while back, can't remember fully but I think Dot kept feeding it although it wasn't hers and Sonia was involved too, I've a feeling maybe Dot had a fall and the cat alerted someone (Lassie style) or maybe it discovered a body? I'll have to Google it now!

iknowimcoming · 22/06/2022 13:33

Close! Dot took in Dave the cat and she tripped over him whilst making Patrick a birthday cake and wasn't found until Super Sonia came home days later!

iknowimcoming · 22/06/2022 13:36

He actually turned out to be Ted and Joyce's missing cat Lucky apparently, it was back in 2017

EmeraldShamrock1 · 22/06/2022 19:54

Really dislike Stuart.

Reverting back to his old ways.

Maybe the new Stuart was a fake.

I'm proud of Nancy.

the80sweregreat · 22/06/2022 20:02

Stuart , what a tool ! Poor poor Rainie :( .. what will she do? Hopefully divorce him.

Linda will hit the vodka again

Nancy will leave for a while maybe? Poor Mitch n Harvey too :(

It's all so grim, the only one talking any sense is Martin!

meow1989 · 22/06/2022 20:07

Who lives below Karen and family now?

Are they setting mitch and Harvey as the new Gary and minty do we think? I actually quite enjoyed their little exchange pre (presumably) attack... bit of lightheartedness.

Jordan is what, 6 months old? What 6 month old (even prem) sleeps enough to be left in an office all shift?

Meredusoleil · 22/06/2022 20:15

Really miserable tonight. Not one ray of light throughout the whole episode 😏

Chelsea taking baby Jordan with her to the club was just ridiculous nevermind irresponsible!

Only funny moments were between Mitch and Harvey. Why were they being attacked and who by?

the80sweregreat · 22/06/2022 20:19

I remember watching a documentary on bbc two about five years ago about a big cab firm ( Addison Lee ? ) in London who did a trail with staff working the phones etc bringing their babies and toddlers into work with them. It was utter chaos and not much work went on.
Reminded me of this seeing Whitney and Chelsea , it won't work. ( Plus , where does Albie go whilst Sharon plays business woman of the year ? )
Why doesn't Whitney just open her own crèche ? She used to work in a nursery and is trained. She would clean up

the80sweregreat · 22/06/2022 20:21

It was very gloomy.
Martin's little chat was good though ; too many people think marriage is easy.
Zack will revert to type and start sleeping around again or go after Sam :(
What a mess it all is.

That's actually a good idea! Whitney the childminder.

Whitney could have Albie, Jordan, Alyssa, Annie and Roland for starters. That's plenty to be getting on with. They could use the house too.

the80sweregreat · 22/06/2022 20:23

I think it's the gangster man that went after Sam n kat ( can't remember his name ??) behind the attacks etc.
he is getting back at Phil

the80sweregreat · 22/06/2022 20:27

Yeah, Grays place is big ; she could register as a childminder ! Annie 's mum will hit the bottle again , that poor soul needs some stability.
Mack and Mia could help out too.
Although Chelsea won't leave her one now.
Maybe the others won't be as fussy !! 😂

Jonah wasn't it?

the80sweregreat · 22/06/2022 20:29

Jonah , yes. The one who was a 1950s throwback.

lazymum99 · 22/06/2022 20:48

I now hate Stewart. I can understand not bonding with the baby but find his behaviour odd. Is he scared he might hurt Roland. You can go through the motions of taking care of a baby without bonding
I was enjoying the banter between Mitch and Harvey. Seems a good friendship.

nancy75 · 22/06/2022 21:24

I think Stuart is supposed to be going through something like ptsd - he was good with Abi when they had her.

Agreed that Mitch and Harvey seem the comedy duo. Which is nice and refreshing.

Martin's little chat was good (suppose they thought they had to put it in there!)

Linda's drama with the drink bottle she said she'd forgotten about and Nancy's trust with both Linda and then Zack was quite well done I thought as it did as lots of people might do where they want to give another chance, talk it through, have hope and then realise the trust is gone. And Zack's acting wasn't bad either! Though he really does come across as thick as mince (nice to look at, not much inside!).

Yes, that's exactly it, maybe the cancer has triggered the PTSD. Don't you recall when he did have the violence/anger stuff where he went completely off the rails and went back to his own flat and fell out with Mick?

Hopefully Super Sonia will come to the rescue and diagnose PTSD and he'll get help.

Poor Rainie though, she's been hit hard losing both Abi and now potentially Roland. And Bernie's decided not to be his mum.

the80sweregreat · 23/06/2022 08:47

Running round the square with the baby was distressing , I wish that they could have done this a bit differently ( maybe him asking Bernie to visit them, then asking her to take him or something like that)
I know it was done for effect etc , but it was a hard watch.
I hope the SS woman returns with back up to check up on them, you can't just give a baby away like this surely ?

EmeraldShamrock1 · 23/06/2022 09:26

It was hard to watch.

I was thinking he is back in to his old sadistic behavioural pattern.

Locking Tina in a car boot, framing mick, stalking.

StationaryMagpie · 23/06/2022 10:08

There is the fact that chemo can have an effect on personality.. there are some cancer drugs that do that, it may be that between his anxiety, ptsd, and chemo, that its making negative changes similar to the effects of being under the influence.

Either way.. that was a hard watch. Poor Rainie.

I do wish they'd have someone in good, strong, stable relationship.. we're missing the old Eastenders where we had power couples and a decent villan.

Agreed with all that here.

EE needs drama but it also needs stability and a bit of humour.
