Just wondering if anyone has watched the entire series 4 and wanted to discuss it or the ending ?! ......

Finally finished S4. I enjoyed it but agree there were a few side plots that were superfluous – Maya, just go away! So sanctimonious. Ruth was the most amazing character. A bad ass, clever working class woman. She wanted short-term revenge for Wyatt, I agree, and she could never leave the Ozarks. Where would she go? She'd rather take the risk and die there. I think the ending shows that the little people like the Langmores always lose in life. Money, power and privilege reigns supreme. Definitely there was more pathos for Wendy in the second half of this series. Her father was chillingly creepy man. What to watch now! 😫

I agree about Maya and her storylines made things overly ridiculous. Especially with a newborn baby!!

BiscuitLover3678 · 10/05/2022 13:05

It was so unrealistic and made me dislike her to put herself and a newborn in so much danger.

It all got a bit silly in this last series. The FBI agreeing to everything Wendy suggested and Omar going along with all the Byrds ideas was completely unrealistic as was Wendy and Marty being able to keep track of all the businesses they had going on. However I still really enjoyed it.

Anyone else feel annoyed that they never saw anyone doing any housework but yet Wendy always seem to have time to cook a homemade meal from scratch.

The cooking and eating bothered me too! I only ever remember Wendy cooking, always spaghetti and I got really distracted in a scene where Marty served himself spaghetti but no sauce 😀
Also, all that red wine ...

The fade to black ending has a Sopranos feel to it. We did not actually see who got shot…

Yes, it could easily have been Wendy. Or Marty.

But I definitely think it's was (forgot his name) as it shows Jonah finally going to The Dark Side to join his parents and sister. They turned their children into them.

Wendy was definitely an alcoholic.

anyone else feel really sorry for Charlotte? She just gave up everything and going to college to what, work at the casino? She became so cold, even to caring about wyatt. It just seemed sad.

of course it’s awful with Jonah too but he was always odd!

Ha I remember that scene because he served himself salad and pasta with no sauce and then started eating!! yum!

Just finished watching.Gutted at Ruth being killed but suppose we can’t always have happy ever after endings.
I like that they dressed Ruth in white and Camilla in black.
Marty was always the decent one I thought and always seem to care so much about Ruth then just let it all happen at the end.

I don't know what everyone expected him to do! Camilla had bodyguards all over that boat and threatened their kids who were only a few feet away.

ellebelli · 26/05/2022 13:31

Could have texted Ruth giving her a warning maybe.....

DashboardConfessional · 26/05/2022 14:49

Too obvious. The only people who knew she was going to kill Ruth were Marty, Wendy, and whatsername who threw Ruth under the bus. If Ruth loses in a firefight, first thing Camilla does is take them out.

A bit late to this but I just had to add how much I’ve enjoyed this show. Ruth was outstanding and I’m gutted she was killed. I wanted her to enjoy being a rich Langmore with a fuck off lakeside house and a pool.

Yep exactly this. We don't know who Jonah shot. I'm a bit late to the party but so annoyed at the ending. I knew Ruth was gonna die cos I accidentally read something but didn't know how of when. Completely unsatisfying ending and I really wanted Wendy to get her comeuppance. I agree with a PP that they Byrde's didn't have much of a choice about not helping Ruth. They were warned that even just a glance towards Ruth would mean the kids died.

I guess I just feel cheated. I invested all this time for a shit ending. At one point during season 4 I nearly googled spoilers cos I was getting a bit fed up. So wish I had now. But I find that with a lot of drama's these days that thd ending is always crap and unsatisfying.
