Anyone watching/watched Top Boy on Netflix?

It's a bit bleak/depressing/violent at times due to the subject matter (East London drug trade), but I love the characters, especially Jaq and Sully. The acting and story lines are superb.

I know it's a totally different genre, but it leaves Bridgeton dead in the water IMHO.

Anyone else?

Me! Watched it from the start and love it. There's 2 seasons that were on C4 then Netflix took it over and made 2 more, in case you didn't know.

Wagwan oseopose! I found second season on Netflix recently and I watched that, and almost immediately afterwards the next two seasons were released and I got through them in a few days.

I was wondering why there was such a big gap between seasons two and three. I need to find a way of watching season 1 now (don't have access to All 4).

Yes you need to watch top boy summerhouse first (it's on Netflix). It was dropped by channel 4 which is when Drake stepped in to rescue it. I think you would miss a lot in terns of the plot and character development if you didn't watch that first. Summerhouse is effectively seasons 1 &2 and top boy seasons 3 &4.

Am loving this new season. On episode 6 at the moment.

Me. I'm just about to watch the final. It's absolutely brilliant - harrowing, tense, fascinating, heartbreaking. There have been such massive character arcs from the very first season. I've become way too attached to these characters considering they do such awful, violent things.

It’s really good isn’t it . And the newer series are actually better I think in terms of character growth and back story

Is there a new series of Top Boy out? I saw the series that Drake resurrected that introduced the new character Jamie that also had Dave in it. Is there another series?

Ahhh nice one. I’ll get on it! I really loved Sully’s redemption arc. He started off being a right c*nt in the first 2 and really grew in character in the 3rd series. But I can’t really remember what happened in Series 3, didn’t Sully get shot and die? Or get fucked up or something?

I've finished the new series and loved it! But I found some parts a bit unbelievable.. I didn't think some of Jamie's decisions made any sense, why why why would he go to Morocco and try to make a new deal with the main guy... Seemed off character and that he would have had more sense than that!

The ending... Just brutal and shocking and I love Sully but couldn't believe what he did! I agree tho, team Sully.. it's the deep, sad eyes for me too!!

I keep waiting to see them (or at least one of them) turn their lives around and make something better of life while they have the chance.. I'm going to be waiting a very long time aren't I !
