Anyone watching/watched Top Boy on Netflix?

It's a bit bleak/depressing/violent at times due to the subject matter (East London drug trade), but I love the characters, especially Jaq and Sully. The acting and story lines are superb.

I know it's a totally different genre, but it leaves Bridgeton dead in the water IMHO.

Anyone else?

Where to go from here? My life will be empty until the next season is released.

Predictions for next season...

Oh I hope so!! Hilarious.

No as much as I’d love Sully to have a happy ending I don’t see it. That bit at the end where (spoiler I suppose) he goes to the accountant woman and is emphasising that he wants his daughter to get all the money when she’s 18 implied to me he isn’t intending on being there to hand it over personally. I think it’s going to be a bad ending for Sully 😢

Plus I love Sully- if I was on a boat next door I would not be going anywhere!

Tempted to watch S1 again

@BlindyPeakers all seasons are on Netflix unless they took season 1 down. Top boy is sick... love it....

We've just watched the final 2 episodes tonight and I'm already feeling bereft. Incredible TV.

@jadey1991 I'm not in the UK and for some reason we only have season 2 on Netflix!

Hopefully it will appear soon, or I will have to wait until next time I am back home.

Ok I watched that it an embarrassingly short time . I absolutely loved it, there wasn't one bit of it I was bored or my thoughts wandered. I actually feel like watching again! I think the first time we saw the cops in the task room and I thought hang on, is that the junkie woman my jaw hit the floor. The plotting was incredible and I cried quite a few times.

Obviously it's not very realistic (I hope) I'd bet even the lives of cartel members aren't quite so eventful and relentlessly tense and dramatic. I mean I could be wrong. What the hell am I going to watch now

Also who was Donovan? The, name rang a bell but I couldn't remember the character at all.

Yes loved this when it first was screened on C4.

Got excited when I saw it advertised on Netflix thinking it was a new series ... oh well.

Donovan is Dushane's Jamaican cousin.

Yes! Love Top Boy and have watched all series. The latest one is excellent and agree that the Lauren/ Curtis storyline was nail-biting stuff! My favourite character is Jaq.

Netflix should sort that out and group them together.

@Thekormachameleon yes bullit proof is amazing but they aren't doing any more seasons now because of the whole Noel Clarke thing maybe should get Kano in to replace him!!!!

I know. It’s so stupid the way they’ve done it - they could even add a little note ‘sequel to summerhouse’ or something. How is the casual viewer who is just scrolling supposed to know? They’ve made it confusing.

Loved it. The end didn’t quite work for me though but love the layers they’ve developed around Sully.

But the second one (summerhouse 2?) is a masterpiece. I may go watch it again from scratch.

Btw I saw Ashleigh Walters jogging up a hill during lockdown and I must have done a middle aged fan girl double-take as he gave me a little nod and I’m still dining out on it on an anonymous forum 2 years later!

I’ve just rewatched series 1 again (or series 3 if you count summerhouse)
The ending makes more sense having watched the previous one as you see how sully resentment builds up
In fact I recommend watching series 3 again as it’s so heartbreaking as was a few years ago
