Finally done woohoo!

Ooh I quite liked it. I actually wanted to Anthony in the end, ahem.

I actually felt really sorry for Pen and omg Colin how could you!

And Eloise going through all her stuff!

Loved S2. Loved Anthony in S1 and he definitely didn't disappoint in S2. The final episode was sublime, rivalling P&P - and I never thought I'd say that.
Jonathon Bailey was exceptional and his 'bane of my existence' speech took my breath away.

I will be watching this again (and haven't rewatched S1)

I read the books ages ago - is the ‘bane of my existence’ line direct quote from the books? It’s very Shakespearean in nature.

Obsessed with season 2.
Loved Antony and Kate Sharma.
Really appreciate the diversity of the cast and
seeing dark skinned South Asian women being cast. People who look like me but not represented on TV or films, both in India and Europe/USA.

Is "You are the bane of my existence and the object of all my desires" this season's "I burn for you" - or, more accurately, "(This is what happens) when one burns for someone who does not feel the same", if we are quoting the gentlemen?

Or was there an even more iconic line in S1? I can't think of one.

@Hepzibar, I have watched that "bane of my existence" scene more times than I care to admit and it still takes my breath away every time.

I think the “bane of my existence equivalent” is this because it’s part of a longer speech:

“To meet a beautiful woman is one thing, but to meet your best friend in the most beautiful of women is something entirely apart.”

I quite liked the central romance in this season but found myself getting too distracted with the more improbable aspects of the plot. I know it's historical fantasy, but after Eloise was 'outed' as associating with political radicals, surely her family would have reigned her in, all they seemed to do was sympathise with her for being exposed and she was still able to get away and visit the printer without anyone noticing.

Also, the repeated instances of Kate and Antony almost but not quite kissing, that doesn't ever happen in real life does it?

Am I the only woman on mumsnet who is still obsessed with season 2?!?!?! It won't let me go. I literally don't think a day has gone by since the Friday it came out when I haven't rewatched key bits. I keep finding little things, like subtle examples of Anthony smelling Kate. It all still gives me so much joy! Please tell me I'm not alone. Maybe there's a support group somewhere? 😂

There is LOADS of stuff on Instagram! I have just rewatched the episode which I fell asleep through (!) and I LOVE Anthony. Am gutted the actor is gay as obviously he’d want to be with me if he’s wasn’t!🤣

I've just rewatched it from the start, still absolutely loving it! I watch a bit most days to be honest. I mix it up with an occasional bit of season 1.

I must have watched Anthony's declaration in the garden about 100 times, the bit when she says it back and he just looks so relieved.

I love Benedict in this season as well, I think you get to know him better. He's always there for Anthony even when he's pushing everyone away plus Luke Thompson just has a quality!

Thank you for the recommendations! I have found the Insta accounts and they're a joy, but I might have to venture into Reddit if the obsession doesn't abate.

@Sunshinegirl82 I also think there is something about Benedict. I'm really hoping the next season is about him.

My favourite bit to rewatch at the moment is the conversation about the bee sting prompted by Edwina. "E: Did you tell the viscount about your bee sting? K: I got stung. A: Ah! K: I am well. A: Ah." It is absolute poetry. Both, particularly him, manage to say so much with so little. He is a brilliant actor, isn't he?

Some really lovely moments with Antony and Violet this season too, the "you cannot lose her" scene has me welling up every time!

Bad script, almost no humour.

I will add that to my rewatching roster. I've not rewatched any of those serious bits yet.

Am I the only person who absolutely loves Eloise?! I think she's hilarious, so awkward. There's one scene in S1 when she just walks in to the drawing room asking how do you get pregnant. The way it was delivered made me laugh so hard.

Much preferred S2. Edwina got on my tits a bit towards the end though she was just TOO perfect. I agree with previous poster about Benedict/the actor who plays him......I can't put my finger on it but when he smiles.....cor.

I think Anthony and Kate have amazing chemistry! Kate is just exquisite to look at too just beautiful. S2 is definitely different to S1 but I have to say I prefer it. Love the queen and the little smile she does can't wait for the next series

Also loved the lady featherington twist too , I really thought she might run off with him !

I was so pleased when Lady Featherington kicked him to the curb. She is a great character.

Anyone else feeling irrationally annoyed we’ve been robbed of Benedict and Sophie in the next series.

At least we’ll get some Kate and Anthony fluff though. There wasn’t nearly enough of that

also I reckon they’ll have Benedict meet Sophie at the ball in this season to lead into his season which would be better than them rushing the meet and their relationship in one season

I think now they've been given the go ahead for seasons 3 and 4 they can afford to make each season a bit less "neat".

I suspected they would go for C & P next as they were pointing at it in season 2, too many meaningful conversations and glances!

I agree they will probably work to set up S & B in the next season, if only to shift B's outlook a bit. There is a big gap between S & B's first and second meetings so it sort of makes sense to break it up with C & P, otherwise it could all seem a bit rushed? Wouldn't make sense that S&B had already met but it hadn't been mentioned so a flashback wouldn't be super convincing?
