One of my favourite ever series.

I didn't realise we have season 5!!!

I watched seasons 1-4 in preparation and never want series 5 to end. Utred is gorgeous and Brida needs to die! I'm a bit partial to Sihtric to and Siggtrygr. I love the women too- so strong. Stiorra is great. I'm even liking aelswith a bit more now. Gutted at the canker diagnosis!

I've watched 8 episodes of the new series already, its so good I can't help binge watching it.

I saved it till Friday but I think i will be watching it all. That's going to be some showdown between Brida and Utred.

For some reason I am worried about Father Pyrlig and Baby Monk this season. Father Beocca reduced me to a puddle when he died.

Oh yay I love this too but I don't know anyone on real life who watches it. I only saw ep1 yesterday and realised I can't remember what happened at the end of the last series so might flick back though them. I'm not sure it's even that good anymore but Uhtred is just so gorgeous! Destiny is all!

I was just trying to explain to DH why he is such a good character.

I know it's the same author but a bit like Sharpe he is just so likeable. You're always gunning for him. He is tough but not a twat.

Watching 1 a night. Binged 4 and wished I hadn't. Can't belive this is the last series. Really hoping someone else picks it up.

It won't be picked up further @Maggiesgirl, its following the books. However they are filming a movie at the moment...

I’ve just finished listening to all 13 books on audible - been listening solidly since November. Would def recommend them!

And around Christmas time DH and I started watching them on Netflix- luckily he thinks it’s great too so we’ve been watching while I’ve been ahead with the books and figuring out where the plot differences are. We’re halfway through series 4 now, watching a few per week (this is binging for us!) - can’t wait to see how they work it all out!

Bridal has gone full tonto hasn’t she! I don’t get her absolute hatred for Utred, yes he didn’t kill her as she asked and she ended up as a slave for the Welsh but is that the reason?

Their ages are also a bit if a distraction. Aelsflead, her mother and her daughter all look the basically same age.
Utred does look older but still in his 30’s when he should be more like 50 by series 5?

I think it’s jumped the shark, just as Vikings did. People are acting out of character (Brida), making silly, out of character decisions (pretty much everyone) and are travelling at lightening speed between apparently only four places in the world.

I agree lots of these series struggle with ridiculous aging. A bit of grey hair doesn't make someone automatically look 50! And if you lived to be 50 in these times... Not to be mean but I'm pretty sure you would look haggard 😆 there's not even a wrinkle on anyone!
