Anyone watch? New series started. I really like it but it gives me anxiety!

OP posts:
sweatervest · 27/01/2022 19:38

ooooooooooooooooooooh i love it too!!!
makes me irked that wendy never ties her hair back though. even when she was making that fire pit thingy in the garden.

jason bateman is the best.
haven't finished it yet.

LemonCake79 · 27/01/2022 23:39

I didn't realise the series is split into two halves. I can't wait... what a cliff hanger. All the acting is amazing.

KittenKong · 28/01/2022 08:51

There’s more? When! Where!

florentina1 · 28/01/2022 10:01

The last seven episodes are already filmed. No notice yet of when they will be released.

Does anyone want to play a game of how it ends. I can’t help but think that one of the Byrds will be a gonna.

DarleneSnell · 28/01/2022 10:20

I have visions of it ending with the favour Marty asked of Ruth - to get the kids and drive far away to some unknown destination with a boot-load of cash.

Haven't decided what I think that means for Marty and Wendy!

KittenKong · 28/01/2022 10:46

I think the crash at the very first episode maybe something relevant.

Vampiremockumentary · 28/01/2022 12:18

Was the crash a flash forward? Noone seemed injured afterwards. Must rewatch.

KittenKong · 28/01/2022 12:32

That’s what I was expecting. You saw them (then - but it was a flash forward/back) arrive at the christening and were cleaning blood from their faces then realise that wasn’t the crash but from when the lawyer was executed…

I suspected everyone would end up dead…

JanisMoplin · 28/01/2022 12:45

Yes, the crash is a flash forward. I read it in a review. Was a bit confusing.

I think there is going to be a face off between Wendy and Ruth. I really hope Marty doesn't die. I feel sorry for him. He's always so calm and reasoned in the face of absolute horror. I think Wendy might be killed off or maybe sacrifice herself for her children given her trajectory.

janicewheeler · 28/01/2022 13:26

I think Wendy is too manipulative to end up dead ! Or maybe the crash was done on purpose so the cartel think the whole byrde family are dead ? Not quite sure how that'd work though !

KittenKong · 28/01/2022 13:38

Maybe they will end up in witness protection (spin off show)…

Rollergirl11 · 28/01/2022 13:56

It stands to reason that someone from the family is gonna die and I don’t think it’s going to be Wendy. Jonah or Charlotte and perhaps even Marty.

It is really good but it does bug me a little bit that nobody is even looking for the sheriff. The Birds are just swanning around without a care in the world. Surely there would be a lot more heat on them then there is with 3 people having gone missing in quick succession?

Rollergirl11 · 28/01/2022 14:14

Also it took me a while to work out where I knew the private detective from but got there in the end! He is Jackson from Ripper Street. I utterly adored his character in that. I wish his character had been given more of a role in this as Adam Gothenburg has bags of charisma and it hasn’t been out to good use so far.

sunshineclouds24 · 28/01/2022 14:27

@Rollergirl11 , I'm thinking that Adam Rothenberg will play a larger part in the next 7 episodes and maybe in line for a spin off show when Ozark ends....

Cocolapew · 28/01/2022 20:42

I'm really not feeling it. It seems a rehash of everything that's gone on before. Wendy has just tured out to be despicable. I'm tired of her standing shouting at Jonah as he wanders off.
I'll not give up because I've loved it up to now but, meh 🤷

Oooh controversial!
SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 28/01/2022 21:51

I think it's queuing everything up to hand over to the next generation.
Darlene's farm will now belong to Ruth, Jonah is the new Marty and Charlotte is the new Wendy.
And Javi has obviously taken over from Omar.

Whether that means that Marty and Wendy escape from it all or don't make it out I'm not sure

XelaM · 29/01/2022 01:47

Am absolutely loving every minute of the show!!! It's genius!

Love Marty!! And Ruth of course. Actually everyone is really likeable on this show, even the bad guys Grin

...and Wendy reminds me of my own mother (scary I know 🤣)

Nooshoos123 · 29/01/2022 02:50

Every episode I wish the Byrdes would get some curtains or blinds for that house!

GreenClock · 29/01/2022 10:29

Their house seems very insecure. Anyone can reach it through the woods or on the water. I know they don’t want to draw attention to themselves but I’m surprised they’re not living somewhere with gates and fences given the reach of their enemies.

SPOILER ALERT (EPISODE 7)…
……..
……..

The car crash in episode 1…I noticed they were all wearing black. Perhaps they are attending Wyatt and Darlene’s funeral?

KittenKong · 29/01/2022 10:43

I hadn’t noticed that! Ohhhhhh.

NurseButtercup · 29/01/2022 13:09

Ok, the bastard covid19 has finally caught up with me, so I'm self-isolating. I've got plenty of time on my hands to watch my programs. I'm going to rewatch the last episode of season 3 and then start the new season. Is this a spoiler free thread??

florentina1 · 29/01/2022 13:41

Yes nobody has given anything away. Except maybe that we are speculating on how it is all going to end.

NurseButtercup · 29/01/2022 14:25

Ok, i won't post any spoilers.

I'm on episode two of season 4, so far I'm on the edge of my seat worrying about the next plot twist. I know everybody hates Wendy, but I'm quietly impressed by her resolve. She didn't choose this life, Marty got them into this and she's just kept pivoting in order to stay alive.
Also I like how the women are being portrayed this season including Darlene, Ruth, Maya, Charlotte. They're not sitting back and waiting for life to happen to them (that's my very simplistic spoiler free analogy).

southeastdweller · 29/01/2022 14:28

I think spoilers are fine here (not that they're proper spoilers), it's not like it's on every week. How long should we wait for everyone to watch the seven episodes?
