The scenes in the Lake District with Alma and Mike made me quite teary this afternoon. What great lines Alma had - especially when Mike asked her what it felt like (to know you're dying) and she said something like... 'its like coming out of the cinema too early and missing the end, and being sad you'll never find out the ending'

😭

I need my tissues!

FlibbertyGibbitt · 05/09/2022 16:18

I do too 😢😢😢😢

SlowHandClap · 05/09/2022 16:19

Ah corrie , that's exactly how you do it
Comedy , heartbreak and drama
Beautifully acted

FlibbertyGibbitt · 05/09/2022 16:37

Blubbed through that like a baby. Classic Corrie is so much better than the modern show. They should have a look at the writing in this.

thenightsky · 06/09/2022 09:54

Gosh that was heart wrenching. Especially when Mike put Perry Como music on. I don't think Linda should have been anywhere near the house though, especially not at the end of the bed, watching Alma die. That was awful.

Completely agree, Linda should have been nowhere near

Couldn’t agree more. Truly incredible last episodes.
i kind of wished the Hayley and Roy storyline with Wayne wasn’t interspersed with Alma’s last episodes, it took away from the moment for me.
Not that I could have cried anymore than I did, so it’s probably a good thing to give my eyes a break!

eggandonion · 06/09/2022 15:20

Oh no....awful Richard Hillman.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 06/09/2022 17:56

Just so sad Audrey missed her ☹️☹️☹️

Norriscolesbag · 06/09/2022 19:59

Just watching the funeral now… the writing and acting in this is just outstanding. Mike is one of my favourite characters- not always likeable but so charismatic and believable. I love it when him and Ken have their ‘getting along’ scenes now and again 😂

Housewife2010 · 07/09/2022 06:35

Anyone watching now. They seem to be stuck on a mattress advert. Seems to have been in a loop for about 10 minutes. I just want the second episode to start!

Can I ask how and where you are watching this? I’m watching the afternoon eps on itv3 and not up to the funeral yet. Are there episodes elsewhere?

Ignore me, I think I only watched one ep yesterday

I can’t remember Roy being like this! Hard to square it with modern day Roy.
I’m finding the Kevin and Molly romance very cringeworthy and not believable but all the other story lines are brilliant. Corrie used to be so good at having lots of story threads running at the same time, they very much struggle with that now.

Kevin and Molly? Aren’t they years ahead of where we are now in classic Corrie?

LockInAtTheFeathers · 08/09/2022 22:15

@Anytimeiseeit Molly the nurse at the medical practice, rather than Tyrone's wife Molly.

Skinnermarink · 08/09/2022 22:17

Oh yeah there’s another Molly later on. This is nurse Molly. She is called Molly right?!

Anytimeiseeit · 08/09/2022 22:37

Oh yes 😆 I was forgetting about nurse molly!

GreenClock · 08/09/2022 23:12

Nurse Molly had very little chemistry with Kevin. I liked her scenes in her professional capacity with Alma though.

Kym Marsh got a mention by Sarah and Candice!

Great dialogue between Mike and Audrey on the boat.

Loving the Anthony-Norris bromance.

x2boys · 11/09/2022 13:24

Just caught up really well done
Why dies Linda seem ti think she will get Mike's factory?,she's ,been married to him less than a year and cheated on him twice .

eggandonion · 13/09/2022 14:57

I dont remember Martin being around so much after the split with Gail.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 13/09/2022 21:59

How brilliant is David, that scene with him ‘shouting’ at Jack Duckworth had me it stitches!

Skinnermarink · 14/09/2022 09:46

David always acted a lot of them out of the park! But it’s Vera I’m really enjoying, she’s a comedy genius, I didn’t really ‘get’ her at the time (I was 14 to be fair 🤣)
