Yes, you could see straightaway that he’d grow up to be a good actor. Still one of my favourite characters now.

I don’t think the Rovers consortium ever really worked.

x2boys · 08/07/2022 20:20

Yes he was/is a cracking actor he's hilarious especially when he asked Betty for two cokes love🤣 and then when Martin came in he said and whatever he's having 🤣🤣 he's also very good at showing his vulnerable side ,he's worlds apart from young Rosie whose the same age .

LadyVictoriaSponge · 13/07/2022 02:32

Is it bad that I really enjoyed Kevin punching Danny? I can’t stand him!

GreenClock · 13/07/2022 13:09

Danny has become unpleasant since they got engaged. It’s a weird character shift

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 14/07/2022 15:02

Just catching up after being away - ITV has missed an episode!! 🤬 There was an episode where you saw Ken tell Adam about Susan’s death - I distinctly remember it. Ken was super calm at first and Mike said to Linda ‘Blimey, that Barlow’s a cold fish ain’t he?’

I feel sad that we lost Susan. I get why they did it, but I think she could be a useful character in modern day Corrie. A calming influence in the Barlow family.

I think you are right! Episode 4984 seems to be missing.

Ah I did wonder ,they went from Peter tearfully telling them all Susan was dead in the Rovers then in the next episode Adam was waking up battered and bruised in Ken,s living room

I don’t watch live I watch on catch up and the episode was there as I watched it! Peter and Ken around Adam’s bed and Peter couldn’t tell him so Ken had to, and yes Mike did say Ken was a cold fish!

OnTheBoardwalk · 14/07/2022 16:47

That’s weird - I couldn’t find it on the Hub! It’s a good job I have a stupidly good memory for all things Corrie 😄

Although actually, I should say most things - I have no recollection of Dev investing in Duggie’s business (not that it’s a particularly gripping plot).

LadyVictoriaSponge · 14/07/2022 17:23

Especially for you guys! Apologies for the quality!

Thank you 🙏🏻 I did think I was going bonkers for a minute there!

thenightsky · 15/07/2022 16:57

Another one episode only day.

OnTheBoardwalk · 19/07/2022 23:44

I've said it before and I’ll say it again. I love the David and Sarah scrapping scenes

whomoon · 25/07/2022 14:43

I’m really enjoying the year 2000 here in classic Corrie! Solid characters, realistic storylines, great relationships and chemistry.

I was 14 at the time and vaguely remember the storylines, or at least I remember where they end up.

its interesting to see how characters have developed from their first appearances.

x2boys · 25/07/2022 18:02

Dev and Deirdre 😱

NimrodNimroy · 26/07/2022 20:47

I was 10 when these episodes first aired and can remember watching them with my Dad.

I find it interesting that I have opposite opinions on the characters to my ten year old self. I remember loving Danny and absolutely loathing Alma - but she is by far my favourite character these days

GreenClock · 26/07/2022 21:11

I know what you mean Nimrod.

I remember not understanding what Audrey saw in Alf other than money. Watching those eps again as a fortysomething, I saw a kind, hardworking man who was good to Gail and the children as well as to his wife.

I found Blanche hilarious back then, but now her put-downs of Deirdre make me cringe. I wouldn’t have her in my house if she were my parent. Maggie Jones did a brilliant job of portraying her, though.

PalourGamer · 28/07/2022 15:41

Is it just me, or does the medical centre look huge in the classic episodes compared to how it looks in the modern day? I still don’t know why they don’t feature it more often.

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 28/07/2022 15:43

Original Adam has done well for himself in the US:

LadyVictoriaSponge · 28/07/2022 19:26

He’s the lead in The Control Room on the bbc.

NimrodNimroy · 05/08/2022 18:44

For a split second today I thought Gary was back, standing behind Martin in the cabin

Anyone else a bit upset at the way Janice is handling the Toyah assault. I know it was different times, especially in terms of how we respond to victims of sexual assault but her initial response is anger with Toyah and then makes it all about her.

DorisWallis · 10/08/2022 07:13

Yes me too @Shimmyshimmycocobop horrific wasn't it but I remember being chastised and verbally attacked before anyone thought to ask questions
Thank God we have moved on
