Is anyone watching? No one I know in real life watches so I have no one to talk about it with- I'm on the current series on TLC when Kody is going all crazy paranoid about Covid

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor I wonder. Will Kody try to find some new, fresh wives? Will Robyn will get left on the scrap heap? Plural marriage is Kody's thing, what has defined him for decades and presumably what brings in his income. Who is going to tune in to 'sister wives' when it's just a couple with kids and an unloved ex hanging on to the edge of the family. What is going to be his selling point without all his wives?

I just watched episode 9 on discovery +. Robyn got the knives out! Basically calling Christine a liar for saying things were bad between her and Kody as far back at Las Vegas. And the clip at the end showing a preview of ep10 shows things getting pretty nasty.

I makes no sense - Robyn and Lody are angry at Christine for unilaterally deciding she is divorced and Robyn says you have to go through steps with the church to sever a marriage, but in the same episode Kody says he doesn't consider himself married to Meri! Either there are rules or not!

The division was really obvious - K,R and M v C and J!

I haven’t yet seen the episode where Janelle leaves. Does she move away / leave the “Third wheel / RV” behind? Good for her! I doubt polygamy can be good for any normal women / any children?

How dare Robyn say Christine was lying about struggling. Does she not watch the show? Then saying they don't communicate very well at all like it's only Christine's fault. Deluded.

At least Janelle stuck up for the truth.
Meri sat like a pudding saying zip when she knew there was a misunderstanding. Meri is very jealous that Kody is angry about Christine. He did to Meri what he is accusing Christine of.

Willful misinterpretation or sock puppet - this is the most Robyn has shown anger in 12 years. I bet her off screen persona is more angry than sobbing. Kody can't see past his own selfish needs.

Janelle and Christine are lovely moms.
Robyn should worry more y about her relationship with children that aren't biologically hers.

As for next week's preview, "The sacrifices I've made to love you wasted" Kody is a supercilious self-centred manchild. Meri cheering him on is a bad look for her.

Run away Janelle and Christine. I'm here for a family reunion.

Why should Christine settle for a husband who isn't attracted to her and doesn't love her - why should any woman? It's alright for Robyn not to want to upset the status quo, she has a husband who wants to be with her!
Meri has doormat stamped on her forehead! Kody has been beyond clear how he feels about her and yet there she still is, clinging on.

What baffles me is Robyn saying they should try harder when she is divorced herself!
I think Robyn is showing her true colours and I cannot stand her continual pretence of being so 'confused' about everything like she hasn't heard any of this before!

She also said in a previous season that if anyone is unhappy they should just leave . In the same episode Kody told everyone that Meri had treated Christine and Janelle really badly, now he is saying it was christine!

@cristinayangstwistedsister I haven't watched this week's episode yet but that's what I'm getting from Robyn. She wanted a plural marriage so therefore everybody else needs to maintain the plural marriage for her. And she was right for leaving her unhappy marriage but Christine is wrong for leaving hers. It's very much double standards!

I wonder what led Robyn's ex-husband to relinquish custody of their children. I understand he was abusive but with men's egos as they are it's surprising he gave up parental rights to allow another man to adopt them. Unless it was ordered that he give up custody perhaps.

Robyn is such a hypocrite pretending that she has no idea why the other wives arent happy. I hope Kody does take a new younger wife and Robyn gets a taste of her own medicine. She is the reason its all fallen apart.

I think what was interesting in this week's episode was how important Isabel thought it was for Truly to see proper happy relationships in Utah with her sisters marriages. It speaks volumes how none of the married children want polygamous marriages. They all grew up in a rather skewed view of plural marriage it's no wonder!

I think on the whole it worked for Janelle. She and Christine remain close and the children of both women are close to each other.
I think plural marriage might be okay if you aren't deeply in love with your partner, aren't inclined towards jealousy and basically want to be a single mother but with a bit of sex and financial help available and value the back up of the other women to help with child rearing.
I don't like how they would view one wife, 4 husbands as an abomination though. That would be an interesting watch!

I can absolutely see how plural marriage could work for families. Women's support system is so frequently other women. We tend to crave the social and emotional input of other women. And in a plural family that female support system is integral to the whole set up. Or should be. There are more hands to cook the dinner and more hands to look after the kids. But the Browns seemed to have left that all behind in Utah and just started to function as 4 single mums sharing a fairly useless husband. Rather than the lioness like team of women all helping each other to raise kids and run a home, they ended up with less support than if they'd been in a conventional marriage. Add into that the fact that Kody wasn't committed to treating each wife equally and fairly and it's no surprise it all fell apart.
