It’s such a silly tale, the storylines are stale, ‘It’s gone to pot!’, we wail; we’ll try to give it up - but fail.

@woodhill

Fascinating - Mabel Grimshaw

No 5 is only 2 bedrooms so where do they all sleep

And the bedrooms must be tiny, the downstairs rooms aren't exactly huge but there's apparently 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs Hmm I need estate agent style floor plans of these houses Grin

I also wondered if the Grimshaws (Todd etc) were descended from Mabel.
And the previous resident of number 5, whose name I've forgotten, that had 2 kids who died, then accidentally smothered another one in his sleep. So tragic.
Not that I'm overinvested at all!

Maybe they should make a spin off series set in the early 1900s!

Amy is upstaging the bride in that dress

woodhill · 18/01/2022 18:16

Sorry wrong thread

woodhill · 18/01/2022 18:17

Yes history is interesting but not the Tardis effect

Honeyroar · 18/01/2022 18:44

Thanks so much. So it’s supposed to be knocked through. It still looks as small as the other house’s rooms to me. I must look closer next time!

NCTDN · 18/01/2022 19:53

Ooh I'd love estate agent style floor plans!!!
So they're chesney, Gemma, Joseph, Gemma mum whose name I can't remember and the four quads who never have a name apart from aled = total 8 humans in that two bed house?!

icecreamgirl94 · 18/01/2022 20:07

Let’s be honest, I think it’s only really the Websters, Metcalfes and Nazirs that live in houses where everyone living there can actually fit. Everyone else is a complete mystery!

Itstheprinciple · 18/01/2022 20:37

Chesney's house has always been one big open plan room even back to when I've and Don Brennan lived there.

Dev's is similar now but did used to be two rooms back in the days of Curly Watts, although I think he had glass doors into the front room although you never saw it. Doesn't Dev also have a loft conversion started by Curly when he used to have his telescope up there??

The Baileys have also done similar and gone for the one big room, although they have put the stairs in the other way round. The front room used to be Percy Sugden's bedroom I think, when Emily Bishop owned the house.

Sally and Tim's layout is completely different to when it was Mavis and Derek's house and yet I'm not sure exactly when those changes took place.

The parts of Gail's we see has never been any different but they do have the garage conversion with en suite so that gives them a bit of extra room.

Remember when Les. Batttersby used to climb across the attics to go and watch tv in Emily's house
Ellenanora7 · 18/01/2022 22:45

I have a vague memory of Les and Kirk pretending they were a couple so Les could stay in the house, someone came around to interview them about it I think, maybe someone from the council.

Anyway this thread is keeping me going coz watching it certainly isn't 😁

Jimmy Corkhill also crawled through the attics in Brookside as far as I remember.

Eileen Grimshaw is a relative of Elise Tanner @SomeOwlsCoo. So there probably is a link going way back
Elsie's lodgers were suzi and Gail, who looked to her as a mother. Would be interesting if something comes up regarding Elsie to set Gail and Eileen off on each other again
Wouldn't it be fascinating to see a time line from the last 20 years. None of it would make any sense Grin

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 19/01/2022 12:50

I hadn't realised that Chesney's house was where Ivy used to live. It looked a lot bigger back then.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff. Grin

Eh? What does that even mean? Am I being thick?

Very philosophical... perhaps the sink hole is a break in the space time continuum. It's there sometimes, then it isn't.

@SundaySundaeSundaySunsundae @Juletide sorry. Guess you aren't Dr Who fans then Grin

Juletide · 19/01/2022 18:45

SomeOwlsCoo You guess correct!

MrsScrubbingbrush · 19/01/2022 18:59

@Juletide ** I think it's a quote from a terrifying episode of Dr Who called The Weeping Angels

Akire · 19/01/2022 19:10

Yes weeping angels other wise known as scariest Dr Who ever!

AnotherCupOfTeaDear · 19/01/2022 19:11

Ah, a bit random though @SomeOwlsCoo, so what does it mean?

Basically that time isn't a straight line.
