Right - I’m puzzled. Most Corrie terraces, they live in the back room around a dining table with the kitchen going off. They’ve come in through/past another room at the front. At Chesney and gemma’s you come in at the foot of the stairs and they live in that room. But there doesn’t seem to be another room further back, just a narrow kitchen. The room they live in has a window to the back like a back room would have. Their living room is small, it’s not knocked through- so where is their other room??

I’d love to know how much they spent on that hotel set - it gets shoehorned in at every opportunity Maybe they had to borrow from the extras budget to afford it and that’s why you never see any staff!

I was trying remember Joseph’s mum all I could remember was she had him in nativity play? But she had a dad and a brother? Why didn’t his mum leave any estate or money? Or life insurance? Why don’t his mum family send him even £50 for Xmas or birthday even if are in Spain/London?

@Akire Joseph’s mom, Katy, was Izzy’s sister, but even when we saw her regularly pre-Covid, she didn’t seem to have much to do with him.

I would be surprised if she’d had anything in the way of an estate because she was so young when she died, but it does seem odd that we don’t hear anything about Owen or Linda anymore.

@Akire I think his mum was Katie, izzys sister and she was killed in a car accident. His grandad is hunky Owen who dated whingebag Anna for a while.

They would get £1780 on top of wages. So good £500 after their rent plus what £1200 in wages from everyone.

So £395 week after rent not including grandmas contribution. I mean most people would be flying on that! If can’t do food shop and put heating on on £400 somethings wrong.

Surely their rent wouldn't be that much?

I did quick look in Manchester at 3 bed terrace I’ve no idea really! I presume even lodgers at Eileen's are paying good £80-100 for room a week. So a 3/4 bed at £300 week isn’t to far out

Maybe its realistic then. Although I thought they only had 2 bedrooms. I pay less that for my 2 up 2 down terrace, which is bigger than theirs appears down south which is why it sounded like a lot!
