It’s such a silly tale, the storylines are stale, ‘It’s gone to pot!’, we wail; we’ll try to give it up - but fail.

And I'm sure the Gemma-friend guy would never risk handing over a ridiculous amount of money to two kids to get them to lie. He could be accused of all sorts of horrendous things.

eggandonion · 17/01/2022 11:04

He doesn't seem the kind of person to think things through. I hope hes not going to become a lovable rogue type of regular.

PenguinIce · 17/01/2022 15:07

Does Chesney own his house? I can’t remember how he ended up living there.

BigHairyCoconut · 17/01/2022 16:00

I wonder what excitement and intrigue will come out way in Corrie this week? Can hardly wait!

Hmm
Akire · 17/01/2022 16:08

Well we have fun of Watching then run speed Dahl when half of them are not speaking to the other half. The irony that she has a homeless man in her attic that works at restaurant while throwing her grandkids out and still expecting my them show up for their shift.

No doubt Shona have some “funny” situations in the Kabin.

More Tim and Aggie lurking around corners and Sally waiting to pounce shouting “get your hands off my husband”

JustJustWhy · 17/01/2022 16:15

I'm still loving and much preferring Classic Corrie. Linda's just starting getting off with Mike Baldwin's son. The dynamic between Tyrone, Jack and Vera is heartwarming.

It’s a council house - but how Chesney ended up with the tenancy is anyone’s guess. It was allocated to the Battersbys originally; then somehow, despite Janice and both daughters moving out, Les managed to keep hold of the tenancy on his own. Chesney moved in as a child when Les and Cilla got together; then when Les got fired in real life went off on tour with a Status Quo tribute band and never came back, Cilla did a bunk and left Chesney with Kirk. At some point Fiz moved in and somehow the tenancy passed to her, and then to Chesney.

@ElizabethG81

The real valuation for that house would be about 100k, 110k tops. It's a 2 up 2 down in a complete state, you could get one like that for 70-80k in a lot of northern towns, so I'd add a bit more with it being closer to a major city.
Shock I live in a '2 up 2 down' (although I'm sure I have more rooms than most of the houses in Corrie) down south. In a not particularly desirable area, although I love it here. A house on my road sold for £260k last year! If it wasn't for the fact everyone I know is here I'd move up North!
Akire · 17/01/2022 18:36

Oh interesting! I missed about 20y of Corrie so in classic it’s just been millennium night. Had no idea Les and Chez were related looking forward. Yes makes sense about that house being council.

blahblahx · 17/01/2022 19:41

Always thought the quads storyline was ridiculous. They're always upstairs, poor sods

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 17/01/2022 19:48

As if Joseph would use the line “I don’t have the latest trainers” Hmm the adults that wrote this nonsense really need to start actually spending time with and studying the kind of people they are writing lines for. A child would say “I don’t have Nike air max, I’ve only got golas” Grin

Akire · 17/01/2022 19:57

Ah the classic everyone else on street knows about Tim before Sally

lollipoprainbow · 17/01/2022 19:57

Tim's emergency will !! Planning his funeral bloody stupid !

BrambleRoses · 17/01/2022 20:00

They didn’t think the quads through at all. How will they realistically cast them in the future?

@WomanStanleyWoman
I'm not sure No 5 can be a council property (don't think any of are) as Mike Baldwin owned it at one point. Did Chesney, when he was married to Josephs mum, buy it from Les Battersby?

eggandonion · 17/01/2022 20:35

I thought it was a council house that the battersby family moved into, rehoused from elsewhere. But i don't know who the council bought it from!

FromDespairToHere · 17/01/2022 20:46

The council acquired it after Don died. Ivy left it to Nick in her will and Don bought it off Nick. I'm not sure if it's still council or if Ches has bought it.

FromDespairToHere · 17/01/2022 20:48

Actually it might have been repossessed from Don and then the council bought it.

ShockWavezz · 17/01/2022 20:52

I can't find bernie and Dev snogging in the corner shop attractive

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 17/01/2022 20:53

Did we ever find out if Abbie was pregnant?

Honeyroar · 17/01/2022 20:58

Well she kind of made it seem like she wasn’t, telling Imran not to worry. But this hints she might be!

Akire · 17/01/2022 21:01

Judging by the orange juice I assume she is but feels like ages ago now she has to
Good 4 months plus now.

There’s me thinking speed daal had proper tables then we had Summer and gang balancing on armchairs. Comfy with plate in one hand, not!

If their house is council the rent is going be good half that of normal rents. Chez can work what 40h, Gemma and her mum can do another 15/20 each over lapping childcare and evenings. That’s two full time wages plus least £80 week in child benefit hardly eating out the bin level.

Housewife2010 · 17/01/2022 21:06

I loved Faye's line to Craig "And stop baking bread. My knickers are cutting off my circulation as it is".

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 17/01/2022 21:07

Amy was dressed like a middle aged mum in the 90’s today 😂
