It’s such a silly tale, the storylines are stale, ‘It’s gone to pot!’, we wail; we’ll try to give it up - but fail.

Why doesn't Tyrone sell the flat and pay the mortgage back on that, then get a remortgage on the house and buy fizz out? Anyway we know it's never going to happen, Fizz will be on Coronation st forever.

eggandonion · 15/01/2022 13:30

If Molly was involved is Kevin's Jack part owner?

WomanStanleyWoman · 15/01/2022 13:32

I never thought of that! Shock

When one partner dies, isn't the mortgage usually paid off by a mortgage protection policy?
Sorry i seem to be saying 'mortgage' a lot.

I’ve been watching classic Corrie last few years in old time. So far Jack n Vera haven't lived at the house they were at pub then now at B&B. The dad with twins who’s wife died is in their house. Guess he must sell it back to them at some point? Ty always talks about Jack n Vera living there yet he’s only been on street less than year and neither of them have lived in house.

He said the flat would only make £5-10k then he have pay expenses so not make much. But least he be rid of it.

If they bought it even 10y ago it’s probable doubled in price so has £70k he gets loan from bank for her share then he extends mortgage. Single wage earner mortgage for 100-130k might swing it. Can see how Fizz working in factory was on much above mim wage and seemed work school hours.

I get they shared bills so what at push she gets back Her share or rent on what 6years? That’s not £45k or even £75k she thinks she’s getting. Ty you are a Fool!

Yes, he does. I won’t tell you when or why in case you want to watch in real time Smile

@Fiddlersgreen

As a Londoner I nearly fell off the sofa when they valued the house at £150-175k Grin
Did you think it would be more or less?
Honeyroar · 15/01/2022 21:21

As a Mancunian and knowing the cost of terraces in poorer areas I thought it was a high valuation- especially as it’s a bit of a dump!

Honeyroar · 15/01/2022 21:22

I just saw this on the Manchester evening News page - they’re twins!!

@NCTDN I expected more, I know house prices are cheaper “up north” compared to where I live but I just wasn’t prepared for that.
Obviously I get that wages are lower etc and therefore prices are less, I just had never looked at house prices in Greater Manchester!

Yes I knew they were twins although she is a lot taller than him. I was surprised to see they are 11 though!
Akire · 15/01/2022 21:40

It’s a dump of a house compared to Kevs with lovely open plan nice kitchen and all light and airier. They don’t even have a proper kitchen. I bet their bathroom suite is pink or peach from the 1980s. Unless their selling the cladding as some
Sort of iconic retro joke

Honeyroar · 15/01/2022 21:53

And when has an estate agent ever looked in a loft? Never when I’ve had a valuation done!

As a northerner I expected less GrinGrin

What was the point in that? Or could the estate engine tell the police and then it be a storyline that the police think family hid him on purpose to try get money as they're "poor"??
MichaelAndEagle · 16/01/2022 11:00

I think it was just to get us thinking 'ooohh they're going to find him!'.

Akire · 16/01/2022 11:03

They left blanket plates and cup up there so they are bound to be in photos and Kids will get found out. Not to mention When does laundry Gemma find £100 and uproar that will cause

ElizabethG81 · 16/01/2022 11:41

The real valuation for that house would be about 100k, 110k tops. It's a 2 up 2 down in a complete state, you could get one like that for 70-80k in a lot of northern towns, so I'd add a bit more with it being closer to a major city.

Plus with all that crime it's hardly a desirable area!!
ElizabethG81 · 16/01/2022 12:38

Ha, yes! The valuation should really take into account that within a year of moving in there you will have lost whatever job you previously had and be working in the knicker factory, be married to a serial killer and if you have children they will have lost at least one parent in that time. They should probably be paying people to move there.

Itstheprinciple · 16/01/2022 19:53

That house would definitely be worth substantially less than that valuation!

WomanStanleyWoman · 16/01/2022 20:58

Didn’t Gail pay less for number six when she bought it from Debbie Webster? A bigger house in much better condition!

Notdoingthis · 16/01/2022 23:04

Joseph would have had to spend the night in hospital if they thought he had been outside on his own all night in January. They would need to watch him for hypothermia.

eggandonion · 16/01/2022 23:27

Gail was paying for a house with a sink hole, though. That all seems to be sorted out now, it seemed quite serious at Halloween.
