It’s such a silly tale, the storylines are stale, ‘It’s gone to pot!’, we wail; we’ll try to give it up - but fail.

I think Fiz did tell Chesney about finding Joseph looking in her purse, but more to counter Chesney when he said that Joseph knew he would pay than trying to get Joseph into trouble.

Thick Tim is really pissing me off. FFS why doesn't he just tell Sally? This is such a stupid storyline.

Honeyroar · 12/01/2022 22:16

They obviously love how Tim portrays gormlessly worried. He’s always doing it. Same when they were hiding the horse!

WomanStanleyWoman · 12/01/2022 23:00

Corrie clearly didn't think through the implications of having 4 babies/toddlers/small children though!

This is all too true. For me, it marks the point where long-term planning was abandoned in favour of daft stunt storylines. It’s not just Corrie that’s gone this way; Emmerdale is the same.

Apart from anything else, any decent soap scriptwriter should know that small children are BORING! There’s only so many times they can get kidnapped, develop life-threatening illnesses, be the subject of custody battles etc… if writers struggle to find plots for one small child, how did they expect to do it for four within the same family?

In other news, am I being thick, or should Zeedan have just told Marrium the truth (or at least a version of it)? She already knows her dad burned down the restaurant - what was wrong with saying ‘Your dad forced me to launder money through the restaurant’? Zeedan didn’t need to tell her that he’d kept the money. All he’s done now is make things worse.

Zeedans wife doesn’t now he nicked the first £50,000 that’s why her dad was after him. Still I’m happy enough if she’s gone, not seen part 2 yet.

Sally bound catch Tim and Aggie having a moment and throw pint over her or whatever it’s the soap law!

Deadringer · 12/01/2022 23:23

The first place i would have looked for Joseph is under Hope's bed! He seemed to be in the attic, but i thought Fizz and Tyrone got a proper conversion done on it years ago. Perhaps i am remembering wrong.

nildesparandum · 12/01/2022 23:42

Corrie writers, surely you can get no worse storylines now?

Akire · 12/01/2022 23:49

No I remember the attic story! So Hope could have her own room wasn’t it? Those houses have 2 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs because no kitchen extension like many of them who have extra room above it upstairs.

DahliaMacNamara · 13/01/2022 00:06

Honestly, wasn't Hope's room the first place you'd look? I know Chesney isn't the brightest spark, but come the fuck on.

Akire · 13/01/2022 00:11

Craigs off sick so how will they cope! Any family near by? Well only her Aunty next door and cousins same age that she spends all day in school with and really good friends. Oh well no point speaking to her or
Checking under her bed Grin

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 13/01/2022 07:02

Where was Ruby? Was she 'staying at a mate's' yet again? Hmm

ChildOfFriday · 13/01/2022 07:17

Did the attic conversion at Fiz and Tyrone's get completed? I can't remember what happened but I've got in my head that something went wrong. Was that the storyline with Fiz constantly saying "We've got 2 kids to feed"?

PinkDaydreams · 13/01/2022 13:46

Has Shona always been an awkward actress? Just caught up and the scene with Rita felt really wooden.

WomanStanleyWoman · 13/01/2022 15:00

I think it’s because of that stupid ‘brain damaged played for laughs’ storyline. The writers don’t know how to make it part of Shona’s personality without it dominating, so the actress doesn’t know how to play it.

Another example of poor long-term planning.

Does Brian own the shop? I must missed that?? Why is it up to her to sort holiday cover at some future point?

“Have the papers ready for 6.30am” pretty sure it’s illegal before 730 for a child. Still lots of “funny” remarks from Shona then. Suppose more of a sit down job than the cafe.

PinkDaydreams · 13/01/2022 15:50

Yes you're prob right regarding the brain damaged storyline and now not sure how to act....yet another example of a badly thought out storyline!

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 13/01/2022 17:00

They should have made it more like Nick's brain damage, which only becomes apparent when they're stuck for a storyline.

eggandonion · 13/01/2022 18:37

I agree, or maxs adhd, or Davids epilepsy. Or Traceyluvs kidney.

Deadringer · 13/01/2022 18:49

The actress who plays Shona was always woeful tbf

Booksandwine80 · 13/01/2022 19:17

@eggandonion

🤣🤣 at “traceyluv”

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 13/01/2022 19:52

Did I imagine it, or did Summer have a big stash of chocolate? Are we heading for a bulimia storyline with added Diabetes complications?

Clawdy · 13/01/2022 20:31

Yes, they've been hinting at Summer having eating issues for a while now.

Akire · 13/01/2022 20:42

Yes been few I’m fat comments when she fancied Daniel, then on one of their many out to celebrate something boring meal, Paul made comment about all calories and she left early and went home to be sick.

NCTDN · 13/01/2022 22:27

Please tell me why I still watch this...Hmm
