As above , SPOILER thread for the new drama which started yesterday on bbc one with Jamie Dornan.

I'm on episode four and it is brilliant.
I just wish he could change that awful t shirt.

I am on episode 4 too and really enjoying it - going to finish it tonight

AutumnOrange · 02/01/2022 18:27

What was the policewoman in previously? I definitely recognise her

the80sweregreat · 02/01/2022 18:39

According to IMDB , Helen ( Danielle McDonald ) was in Dumplin ' with Jennifer Aniston.
I didn't see that film, but she did look familiar to me. Probably saw a trailer for it on Netflix!

Episode 4 spoiler

Ooh I was hesitant to join as I'm only on episode 4 ... mine and DHs thoughts so far.

/Man in retreat is Kostas brother who maimed him severely as a child

/Helen is pregnant off Elliot

/Hybrid spice girl was part of Kosta's crew sent to Elliot but she fell in love with him and couldn't do it

/Detective bloke is after a farmed kidney and Kosta has promised him one!!

itsgettingweird · 02/01/2022 20:29

I've watched episode 4!

It's deeper than I thought and I'm struggling to follow some of it.

I'm assuming 5 and 6 will clear it up!

the80sweregreat · 02/01/2022 20:38

How did Billy get out of that well ? He was also injured with the scissors.

OP posts:
itsgettingweird · 02/01/2022 20:48

He's Like a cat with 9 lives!

the80sweregreat · 02/01/2022 20:50

The Western music is a bit strange.
I loved how the helicopter pilot didn't really ask them what they were doing there!
Lammon ( Lemon) is funny too , I think that him and Helen's partner might end up together ? ..
I hope Helen leaves him anyway

Really enjoyed up to episode 4, but kind of lost it a bit episode 5,/6 may have to rewatch those two again!

species5618 · 03/01/2022 02:13

I've watched all 6 episodes, but I'm waiting for people to catch up before commenting. Not quite how I saw it ending

CailleachGranda · 03/01/2022 02:39

Watched all and I loved it. So many twists and turns and gasp out loud moment

GrimDamnFanjo · 03/01/2022 02:40

Finished it too.
I really enjoyed it overall.

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/01/2022 04:53

Really enjoyed it except for the ending.

I like endings to tie things up properly.

Gechik · 03/01/2022 05:56

Finished and really enjoyed, will wait to discuss the end

Hels20 · 03/01/2022 09:36

I have finished it too - if this is a spoiler thread can’t we discuss it yet?

I thought it was excellent - and I think 2022 will be Jamie Dorman’s year. I have always liked him - like how he comes across on the Graham Norton show. Like the Times story today about how he emailed the film critic directly and Times film critic didn’t believe it was him.

Really like Helen in this. But such a high body count and didn’t guess that Costa was hallucinating his brother.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/01/2022 09:47

Watched all 6 yesterday .

I did wonder too about Billy , as he wandered about having been scissored there was no blood from his back, then he had a crow bar to the face then fell in the well...............

In the episode where Ellliot's opening the doors , is that a dream? Or is it the effects of the "water" ?

Did anyone see the sign that said "Cod Pyschology and Daddy Issues"?

I decided after watching this that even though I had no desire to visit Australia before this , I have NO desire to visit Austraila after !

the80sweregreat · 03/01/2022 09:54

Many spoilers ahead as binged it all now ! ...........

Is Elliott dead ?
I tried to count up the amount of dead bodies and got to nine, but I think I missed a few.
I'm also upset he didn't leave any money to Lena as well although Sue getting it was good
Couldn't work out if the brother was alive or not ? He probably was , but how he falsely obtained a death certificate was air brushed over and rushed.
It was sad that Elliot was a baddie after all :(
I felt quite upset about that to be honest
It reminded me of 'Breaking bad' a bit too , but I think it was the bleak settings and many dead bodies
I did like it but the violence was graphic and the taxi driver didn't deserve that either .

Agree. He's always very funny and self deprecating on Graham Norton and if I see a lot more of Jamie Dornan in 2022, I won't be upset. He's very easy on the eye. Thought he was very funny in Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar as well.

PaulRuddsWife · 03/01/2022 09:59

Is Elliott dead

I think it's supposed to be one of those ambiguous endings, which is kind of annoying, but also suited it. Did he have time to phone an ambulance at the end, or did he die knowing at least one person cared for him?

Overall, I really enjoyed it. I liked the bits of humour injected throughout and actually laughed out loud at Helen's friend telling her about her husband who she met when she caught him in her house sniffing her pants.

the80sweregreat · 03/01/2022 10:03

I saw the corridors in the hospital as his brain , going through each door was his memory returning to him in fragments.
He remembered Lena as a good person , but not what happened to her :(
That was shocking and it shows how we choose to remember the good stuff and blot out the bad.

the80sweregreat · 03/01/2022 10:04

So funny in the diner , a hostage situation yet people were ordering food!!
I loved the tough lady cop , but poor Lammon !

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/01/2022 10:09

The truck/car chase was like the film "Duel" , but that was a completely random attack .

I didn't like the trapped in a barrell scenes , I cannot watch these scenes in films .(Don't mind blugeoning with a crow bar but not being trapped)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/01/2022 10:26

When Lammon said "It's Lammon not Lemon" I half expected DI Rogers to do a Ted Hastings Frankly son, right now I couldn’t give a shit.

Hels20 · 03/01/2022 10:59

I think the genre changed after about episode 2 - switched from being quite serious to being black comedy. For example the hostage situation, the fact that Billy wouldn’t die, the fact that the guy in the oil barrel was allergic to scorpions. I thought all the leads were excellent - really liked Helen and Luci/Victoria was great too. But the show really belonged to Jamie - I think he showed a great acting range.
