Can anyone think of some? Seinfeld is shaping up pretty well so far.

Frasier. The dynamic between Frasier, Niles and Martin will never age.
His apartment looks pretty timeless too.

HeronLanyon · 06/12/2021 19:16

I’ve just been watching Seinfeld series 6&7 fir no good reason. Less funny than I remembered. Like Kramer more than I remembered. Never fond of Jerry. George always good for a laugh.

PerditaNitt · 06/12/2021 19:20

Father Ted - absolutely perfect.

BigFatLiar · 06/12/2021 19:20

We watch 'Last of the Summer Wine' it went on for almost 30 years, stories about some daft old men.

PerditaNitt · 06/12/2021 19:21

I think it’s because the set for Father Ted was so old fashioned, it hasn’t really dated. Their house would be decorated the same way even if it was filmed today.

Fatherliamdeliverance · 06/12/2021 19:22

Father ted! And I think Red dwarf (although I'm not a mega fan so may have missed some stuff that wouldn't fly these days).

Skyll · 06/12/2021 19:22

Was coming to say father ted.

BiscuitLover3679 · 06/12/2021 19:24

I meant more like if the humour has dated - is ir still appropriate (not too sexist, racist, homophobic). I quire enjoy 80s and 90s storylines with no Internet, landlines and old decor.

Keeping up appearances

raspberrycordial · 06/12/2021 19:28

Agree frasier and also peep show-have been rewatching and laughing out loud. Mitchell's and webb's acting is perfect.

TheVanguardSix · 06/12/2021 19:31

Yes to Seinfeld and Father Ted! I adore both. The Apology is the best episode of Seinfeld ever! Kramer preparing radish roses in the shower!
As for Father Ted, I'll never ever forget the first time I watched A Song For Europe... God, I literally did fall off my chair laughing when the rainbow horse's head jumps onto the screen.

OnlyTheTitosaurusOfTheIceberg · 06/12/2021 19:32

Dinnerladies.

Trolltrotters · 06/12/2021 19:34

Blackadder is still funny. Might be worth a watch

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/12/2021 19:35

The BBC seems to repeat Dad's Army on an infinite loop and I never tire of it.

My favourite sitcom of all time has always been, and still is, Fawlty Towers, but I know some people feel there are many offensive lines and storylines in there by modern standards.

One Foot in the Grave.

IgneousRock · 06/12/2021 19:36

Blackadder - I think because it's set in the past anyway.

Fatherliamdeliverance · 06/12/2021 19:37

100% dinnerladies. And the Royle family

TheVanguardSix · 06/12/2021 19:37

Fawlty Towers will ALWAYS be my favourite. Nothing can break my loyalty Gasp0de. Grin

balancingfigure · 06/12/2021 19:38

Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. It must be 40 odd years old but I watch it and think that probably happens now!

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 06/12/2021 19:40

Frasier. I love it. And his apartment
I did like it when C4 put on cheers for a while in the morning, however I did notice a few liners that made me go....ooooh blimey!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/12/2021 19:45

dinnerladies ....so many of the quotes find their way into everyday conversation.

Fawlty Towers

So many favourite lines from Fawlty Towers, but here are a couple of absolute crackers from Waldorf Salad.

Other Lady: “Uh, excuse me.”
Sybil: “Yes?”
Other Lady: “Do you think we could cancel our fruit salads?”
Sybil: “Well, it's a little tricky, chef's just opened the tin."
Other Lady: “Oh.”
Doris: “Never mind. I'm sure it'll be very nice, thank you.”

*

Mr Hamilton: “Could you make me a Waldorf salad?”
Basil: “Waldorf salad. I think we're just out of Waldorfs.”

**

The script is glorious but of course the performances are sublime too, especially from John Cleese and Prunella Scales.
