Anyone watching? I love this series and fancy Perez He seems to have some extra timber on him.. I don’t like him in a suit, much prefer a fishermans knitted jumper on him..

Where were we left when the last series ended? Did he get together with someone? Someone who seemed to have shady motives? I can’t remember!

I'm thinking about ordering the books as another winter distraction. Does anyone know how they correspond with the TV series - is it best to read them in the order Ann Cleeves wrote them, for example?
I'd say it helps to read them in order as although each book is a stand alone in terms of the crime being investigated there is a continuing thread involving Perez's (dreary) love life and character development.

It'll be the dodgy drug dealer bloke who is the murderer. Isn't it usually someone who has a fairly minor part that we rarely see for ages that turns out to be the culprit? But it will have been ordered by the dodgy doctor and the dodgy businessman to cover up the death of the young lass on feltar.

Or something like that. Although I think the wives are dodgy too. It's Shetland-everyone's dodgy.

I don't think Perez looks too overweight, just messy. Maybe it's just to reflect his sad personal circumstances.

Surely Duncan's fingerprints will be on the cocoa tub and the medicine bottles as well as the mug that he "picked up to put in the sink", so how will he explain that?
