Oh look, a man who can never be told he was wrong. Sadly expecting that Melissa has an awful evening in his company after the ceremony, it's not like he even moderates his behaviour much in the presence of the camera crew. Really worrying.

The fact that he thinks spending an evening throwing insults around and dragging his wife into arguments has made them 'stronger than ever' is so worrying that I feel the producers or whoever is supposed to care for them need something sort of intervention or repercussions that they let this abuse go on.

I hate to say it but it gets even worse WRT.

@JaneJeffer

Not more couples! Fuck sake. Please tell me we don't have to go through intimacy week again with them. I can't keep up this level of cringe on a consistent basis. I'm so tempted to just google all the spoilers and have done with it.
Stick with it - the new couples bring a refreshing dynamic after all the conflict so far

@Dave20

Also not sure what James’ problem with Joanne is. She’s pretty and seems a nice girl. He’s gone all weird on her.
I think it's his ego after she said she'd stay "for now" last week. The creepy bit is that he was sweet to her all week leading her to say "stay" then turned mean
YourFinestPantaloons · 21/10/2021 22:32

@JaneJeffer

Please can we keep the thread spoiler-free? The posts hinting at spoilers aren't great either. I'd like to know (without knowing what it is) when the spoiler is happening. Is it soon or near the end?
Post-show. In real time it's happening now

Catching up on tonights episode - Melissa over the moon because Bryce said "there's a lot of things I like about you"

Why is nobody stopping this relationship?!

My 12 year old shouted red flag! She gets it but not Melissa 🤦‍♀️

I think it's his ego after she said she'd stay "for now" last week.

It predates that I reckon. Back to when she has to put the grooms in order of attractiveness and she really hammed up how hard it was to know where to put him.

I have to admit, I'd be fucked off at that too.

Anyway, that was the point that their dynamic totally changed imo.

I agree this is when he changed and I don't blame him.

It's funny reading through everyone's thoughts as you're watching it as they're pretty much the same thoughts I had when it was being aired over here. Especially regarding Bryce and Melissa --those two are massive red flags blowing in a gale force wind and I think they should have never been on the show in the first place or they should have been asked to leave early on.
I'm sure they do psychological tests on them all prior to filming (if they don't they should) but maybe they need to review how they go about this because over the years there has been some very toxic and emotionally damaged people that have been chosen for this show and it's all for our "entertainment".
I'll admit I watch it for the entertainment value and the drama but there are some issues that arise on shows like this that aren't entertaining and while dramatic isn't the sort of drama we should be watching (or enjoying) and yes I'm a hypocrite for continuing to watch this show but I just think the producers need to think carefully about who they allow on but controversy = money to the TV executives.

Sorry I'll get off my soapbox now. Carry on!

I’m lying in bed unable to sleep, and pondering whether there’s a clause in the contracts that stipulates the phrase ‘have your back’ must be used in some form during every episode…

JaneJeffer · 22/10/2021 02:15

Liam is like a young Donald Trump Confused

HollowTalk · 22/10/2021 07:54

@Sunbird24

You do have to wonder if they ever watch this back much later on and cringe at how they come across
I think in one of the earlier series, at the end the cast was shown an incident that had clearly been edited and they said they didn't recognise that as what actually happened.
Sunbird24 · 22/10/2021 08:12

That doesn’t entirely surprise me!

Yes you're absolutely right. I really can't comprehend why anyone wouldn't just automatically say their partner. I'd put my partner above clooney, Hardy, Pitt... anyone in that situation. They'd know you were lying, you'd know you were lying, but it's what you do!
OrangeJuiceAndNoodles · 22/10/2021 09:16

Totally. It's beyond rude to do anything but. And also, the others in the photographs were all people living in the same building as them. If my partner put the girl next door/upstairs ahead of me in that exercise, I'd be upset on an unfathomable scale.

I don't know what was going through Jo's head there.

Yeah, everyone would know it's a lie (in one sense) but it's a lie that says a truth, which is "I see you as a person of value with feelings that I want to consider". If that's the truth you tell your partner, I think they would be happy about that. Whereas the truth that you're telling them when you don't put their pictures first isn't that you think they're not the most attractive person who ever lived or will ever live, it's that you don't care how they feel or what impact your opinions might have on them.

Ughmaybenot · 22/10/2021 09:50

Okay so I’m jumping the gun here (that never happens… 😂) as I’m only halfway through Wednesdays episode, but I’m still laughing about ‘gonzo, come back!!’, then Bryce pretending he didn’t even know who gonzo was and being all ‘haha I don’t even care HAHA’ 😬 I’ll miss shit stirring ManSam.
Cameron and coco honestly make me feel sick, they’re so fucking sleazy. How coco can say with a straight face ‘oh I’ve come clean with Samantha’ is utterly beyond me!! You’ve talked shite about how everyone else think Cameron and her would be a good couple, and nothing about the secret drinks date and how they’ve both said they fancy each other Confused
Speaking of Samantha, how pretty did she look without the make up?
Bloody Patrick and Belinda make me cringe inside out every time they’re on screen. It’s so teenage and false to my mind.
Bec is an utter clown. And she’s so mean!!

Ughmaybenot · 22/10/2021 10:06

Bryce is a fucking danger. I do feel like he shouldn’t be on tv in some ways, his behaviour is so openly abusive, but on the other hand, if someone watches it and recognises that his behaviour is completely unacceptable maybe that’s a good thing?! I don’t even know. Someone save Melissa ffs.

Yes and him doing his gruesome flirty face and saying I'm a married man at the same time thinking that made him decent. Horrible man. He said he had no chemistry with Sam but he still had sex with her.

Oh do not, he’s awful!! They’ll fizzle out in five minutes flat. Speaking of his awful flirty face, coco’s isn’t much better, she looks like she’s eyeing him up to eat him!

@ufucoffee

I knew there was a reason a not bad looking Millionaire businessman couldn't find a wife. It's because he's a tool.

Ughmaybenot · 22/10/2021 12:23

Is it striking anyone else (and I’m sorry if I have missed it if so, I have read back I promise!!) as a bit weird that Johnny can’t seem to come up with a single reason as to why his wife left him after six months, or did I miss something? Seems a bit weird, or maybe I’m being harsh! He doesn’t seem remotely over the ex either, not sure this is a good idea for him 🤔

meadowbleu · 22/10/2021 12:54

Quoting @HollowTalk
'I think in one of the earlier series, at the end the cast was shown an incident that had clearly been edited and they said they didn't recognise that as what actually happened'

I saw an interview with UK Franky about editing. He said his wedding speech was long and full of good humour and well received. His comment about Maz getting up to cook his breakfast eggs was a throwaway joke and everyone laughed, but when it aired, they'd cut it with people's reaction to something else entirely so a. it sounded really bad and b. it looked like tumbleweed and a shocked crowd response that really didn't happen.

I know he didn't come across well on the show, but to be fair to him, when you look back, at least those two kept their dignity and looked out for each other.

For the most part, these Australian men seem very juvenile and it's no wonder a lot of them are single. Not that some of the women are much better. Looking forward to seeing how the new couples turn out.

TitsInAbsentia · 22/10/2021 13:55

As much as I disliked Franky I can totally accept the editing of his speech to be true. I remember someone else had said that about their arrival at the wedding and it looked like neither family spoke whilst they were waiting but apparently it was all very jovial and chatty but edited to look like even tumbleweed wouldn't have gone there...
