I think the weddings and receptions are all pretty small because it was filmed during Covid.

It seems like less family involvement in the Australian version than the U.K. version. More of the Oz bunch seem to have friends not family. Perhaps due to the distance and the size of Australia?

I’m guessing most of these were filmed during regional lockdowns. Weddings were limited to between 5-10 depending on where in the region you lived.
