My two pence worth after tonight's show:

Marylise and Franky: she needs to run. Where is the duty of care here from the producers? But it's good to see her pushing back.

Bob and Megan; Who the fuck are they kidding. Also the ixperts were WAY too hard on Megan. An affair?! Pfft. The guilt tripping is boring and unnecessary and I feel sorry for her now.

Ant and Alexis: I've got a horrible feeling this is gonna be a friendship only because I'm not sure he fancies her as much as he makes out. Also I can't understand why suddenly she's mad again at Megan. She hated Jordon! And she DID say they'd discussed couple swapping. I think she maybe likes playing the victim

Tayah and Adam: hopefully the real thing but I hope she gets support for the trauma of her miscarriage. Having another baby will not heal her grief, it doesn't work like that.

Howard and Fergal: I love these two and think they will just glide through the experiment

Morag and Luke: didn't like the way they were berated for not being in love. Morag is so loud it's painful. And they're just very incompatible.

Amy and Josh: I actually feel sorry for Josh and genuinely feel like he's the only one making any fucking sense, and that includes the ixperts. They've known each other 2-3 weeks and because he's not saying "my future is definitely with Amy and I am 100% certain of that" he's being made out to be mean - whereas anyone who did say that IMO is deluded. Even (properly) married couples who've been together for decades happily take the "we don't know what's round the corner" line FFS. Also Amy, You're a grown bloody woman. If you're at a dinner party and you aren't having a good time, use that big wet thing in your mouth and tell your OH. Don't sit there sulking because he isn't "checking in". Did you check in with him? No. You're the layyyydee and need to be rescued every hour of the day like a Princess.

Honestly these women, wanted to be treated like a delicate little emotionally stunted flower, it's like feminism never bloody happened! And it sends a bad message about men too - like men are the ones who have to 'check in' with women because they're the strong dependable ones. their feelings don't seem to matter apparently and they don't need anyone to 'check in'. Honestly it's SUCH sexist damaging bullshit, with a side of enforced toxic masculinity.

YourFinestPantaloons · 16/09/2021 00:58

Also the fact that Amy thought the rules of writing stay/leave doesn't apply to her, she can write both and show it depending on what Josh says on the couch, sums her up. Everything has to be on her terms, and if the rules don't work that way she'll make them that way. The same way she decided on Josh's yes week that she'd get a sage woman in and her do as he was told

YourFinestPantaloons · 16/09/2021 01:10

@dotdotdotdash

Also, if Tayah has six babies, when is she going to find the time to do all that contouring? Has Adam ever seen her without the slap? He might find it wasn’t what he ordered!
She also puts way too much blusher on the end of her nose, she's like Rudolph
batmanladybird · 16/09/2021 01:34

@Appalonia

Has anyone watched UnReal? It's a fab drama comedy about shows like the Bachelor, co written by one of the producers of that show? It's obviously exaggerated but it really shows how much the producers go out of their way to create drama!
This sounds good. Channel??
lollipoprainbow · 16/09/2021 06:56

Alexis faces she pulls are so annoying ! I get the impression tayah is more into Adam than he is into her, when she was crying about the miscarriage he had his arm round her but his hand wasn't touching her at all, he could have hugged her !!

category12 · 16/09/2021 07:11

There was a movie/series (can't remember which) set in reality TV and the zombie apocalypse happened and they all killed each other.

I'm not saying I'd be happy for that to happen, but - it wouldn't upset me.

HollowTalk · 16/09/2021 07:31

It's interesting that they talk about Tayah's miscarriage but they don't talk about the father of that baby. If the miscarriage was that recent then the relationship must've only recently ended. That's a huge red flag that she's jumped straight into a new relationship.

A red headed Morag

Oh yes! It was in the big brother house Smile

Dinkydonk55 · 16/09/2021 08:08

Ooh unreal was good
I watched it on Amazon prime

Did we ever actually see the so called affair kiss between Megan & Jordon with the sleepy eyes and very odd mouth?

The Aussies never would’ve let that happen off camera.

Just wonder if the producers made her do it but she did it on the condition she didn’t actually have to kiss him 😂

AppleJane · 16/09/2021 08:12

Fake kiss, fake affair, fake love. Gaslighting by the ixperts. Who are the real control freaks?

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 16/09/2021 08:22

Totally agree @YourFinestPantaloons

showmethegin · 16/09/2021 08:58

Does anyone listen to the MAFS Lessons podcast? Really good, funny. Episode one is a wrap up of the Aussie one, episode 2 onwards is the current uk one

LagneyandCasey · 16/09/2021 09:12

@darksideofthemooncup

I'm a bit late to the party but I have to say that Tayah reminds me very much of Kate O'Mara in her Triangle days
Yes!!

Agree with Your Finest Pantaloons.

Do sympathise with Josh. Would add though that Josh hasn't been doing the 'checking in with Amy' he was asked to do last week. (Checking she is ok, trying to initiate more physical touch- hugs/handholding, I guess).

NOT that Amy has behaved respectfully towards Josh. She does remind me of a petulant toddler, pouting, having a tantrum and throwing things when she isn't the centre of attention. It doesn't really inspire anyone to keep checking in and showing affection because then she might see it as a reward for her bad behaviour.

Wouldn't it be better if they actually did call her out on her bad behaviour, maybe showed her how dreadfully she's coming across and explained that if this is how she's behaved in relationships before, THAT'S PROBABLY WHY THEY RUN AWAY???

But that doesn't necessarily make for good TV, does it? Is Super Nanny available to help? Seriously though, it's getting to be an uncomfortable watch. There's an awful lot of participants that could do with conselling and decent advice, but they don't seem to be getting it. Probably would be too personal, raw and maybe uncomfortable viewing. And if the contestants became happier in themselves/with their lot, it might be even more boring than the last episode...

LagneyandCasey · 16/09/2021 09:27

I can't see Tayah and Adam lasting. His first relationship and 2 weeks in they're already talking babies Hmm

Alexis is nuts. Lovely Ant needs to run for the hills. She'll never trust him. I hope he doesn't have a bunny.

Warming to Meg. She doesn't deserve all this shit for one kiss. It wasn't even a proper kiss as Jordan only has half a mouth.

I'm convinced Bob is David Walliams' son.

Marylese is not happy. I think she'd be better off with lovely Luke. He's the sort of guy that her kids would get on well with.

Nogaxeh · 16/09/2021 09:48

I'm confused why we see so little of the couples together as couples. Looks like the next episode is more group dynamics again, so that's three episodes in the group talking about relationships, and one episode of seeing the relationships this week.

Balance is all wrong. I struggle to engage with the talking about the relationships when I've seen so little of the relationships to form an opinion on.

I notice also that they don't have the couples filming themselves as they did in previous series, which I think gave a more genuine look at what was going on.

I'm a bit bored really. Glad I have the knitting to do so the time isn't completely wasted, but I feel like I'm waiting for the end now so that I can see how it finishes. Nine episodes to go?

Just finished last nights episode and basically agree with everything you’ve said @YourFinestPantaloons
The experts are a bunch of bloody idiots. Why tf are they asking about love after three weeks?!
I think even if Ant really does fancy Alexis (I think he does) he’ll soon go off her with the way she’s acting…

Puffalicious · 16/09/2021 11:01

Separated at birth!
Oh my God- yes!!!! If she's 25 I'm bloody Mother Theresa.

Marylise is NOT 37. I'm 49 and look younger than her. Is it the shitty botox which makes them look so awful?

Mumdiva99 · 16/09/2021 11:22

I just looked at the DM pictures. Imho it looks like Franky has a weird eye - not putting the boot into him as I have the same....just take a deep breath and consider for a moment could he have an 'in joke' with M about his eye and that's what we saw at the dinner party.......so he wasn't really talking about her but him......that maybe she has stayed to date because he's not quite as bad as the editing.......

(Although it still doesn't answer what their argument was about....)

Chicchicchicchiclana · 16/09/2021 11:26

Placemarking, and also my two pence worth on the night before last's episode (I'm one behind).

Amy needs to cheer up a bit, seriously. There's nothing less attractive than a sulker and her mouth is on a permanent down turn. She needs to accept that she's been mismatched and either get on with it or not. The marriages are not even real, none of it is real, she could look on it like a few weeks break from normal life and a chance to get to know new people and TV exposure which is what she really wants and just get it in fucking perspective. Same with all of them who haven't got what they ordered! Honestly.

Franky's got an unusual idea of paying a compliment Hmm.

Lol at Adam's face when Tayah announced she would be pg within a year! Like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

Morag laughs like a maniac at her own jokes every time. It's very odd.

Luke's trousers look exactly like my cropped leggings I wear to Zumba, except of course my legs aren't so pathetically skinny fill them out more.

Looking forward to catching up later ... I hate being 1 behind!

I agree with this. I haven't watched MAFS before but there's so much of all the couples together and the "experts" (misnomer if ever there was one) but we see nothing of the couples together, or very very little.
