New thread.

Agree bit rich fiz blaming Tyrone for hopes behaviour! She was a pyromaniac long before he put his slippers under alina’s bed. More likely her psychopathic genes inherited from her father and shared with her crazy sister.

@Quarks69

Not sure who this Sophie person is. Yes I could google it but there’s real life and then there is soap, why pretend the storyline is based on an actual person? That would be An awful thing to do. Odds are at some point a Corrie plot will match Real life, but it’s just coincidence...now they can send Abi to kill Corey..!
It's not a coincidence and Mollie Gallagher mentioned Sophie and Sophie's mum in her acceptance speech last night.
Quarks69 · 11/09/2021 07:18

Ok, have Visited google, and I see what you mean. Different ending entirely because the perpetrators in reality pleaded guilty. All very sad.

As a side note, I feel like the only person who doesn’t get this phrase hate crime. I mean, what normal person would kill someone because they were a goth? Surely it is an excuse. That person would have found any reason to excuse their need to be violent. if someone is a killer surely every murder is a hate crime. I can’t think of one that isn’t. Can you be violent without feeling hatred?

Guessing a psycho like cOrry would kill again and the dad would have blood on his hands.

PrincessScarlett · 11/09/2021 07:18

Yes Mollie Gallagher spoke about working closely with Sophie's mum and what a wonderful person she is . And Corrie have said from the start that they spent a lot of time working with Sophie's family. It was such a shocking real life case and that's why some of us feel upset that Corrie are going off on this tangent as the farce element seems a bit disrespectful when the storyline is deliberately based on a real person.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 11/09/2021 07:43

When Corey winked at Abi- I wanted to punch the screen! All his arrogance expressed in that one tiny action. He has played this part fantastically well and surely he must get his comeuppance! I just hope real justice is served and he doesn't fall off a bloody roof.

TheVolturi · 11/09/2021 08:21

I don't think Kelly was dressed for court, more like a night out! That skirt barely covered her bum 🙄

NCTDN · 11/09/2021 09:48

I'm easily won round, but I felt sorry for Kelly. It's a shame that Abby didn't win the nta award - she's amazing.
I actually thought dev was better last night than he's been in ages.

strugglingwithlife · 11/09/2021 09:55

The thing in those two episodes that annoyed me was Kelly asking how long she could get sent down for, Imran says twelve years, Kelly says I'll be thirty, two seconds later "I'm only sixteen"

Yeah I thought the same

ChildOfFriday · 11/09/2021 10:00

I also noticed the 16 and 30 thing, but wasn't that after Imran said 12 years was the minimum, so she could have been talking more generally as she might have got longer? Maybe I'm grasping at straws!

Akire · 11/09/2021 10:16

To be fair when you are 16 30 feels like old age. Can’t decide if the want Kelly out of way and plot over or she will get out and then be stuck on street next 10years.

Clawdy · 11/09/2021 12:14

I did find Mollie G's acceptance speech a bit cringey, I get that she was nervous, but all the half-crying and hair wafting spoilt it for me.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 11/09/2021 12:22

I loved the Sam actor's acceptance speech!😀

MauvePinkRose · 11/09/2021 12:25

I think the problem is that they’ve gone down a very black and white road of Kelly - innocent and Corey - guilty. It is far more nuanced than that, and I hate the fact Kelly has done really awful things (I forgot about sharing Asha’s photo) that have been skimmed over as if they aren’t important, somehow.

theresnoonequitelikegrandma · 11/09/2021 12:33

Didn't the prosecution barrister mention 'joint enterprise' at some point in the trial? I have to stop watching this shit show for the sake of my blood pressure! 🤣

Queenoftheashes · 11/09/2021 14:01

@MauvePinkRose I agree - do they only have 21 year old writers or something? It seems like a very immature way of looking at it.

Viviennemary · 11/09/2021 20:56

I agree Kelly needs to go to prison for a few years. She started the violence.

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 11/09/2021 23:04

So stupid. Why would they believe that Ely kid who is friends with Corey and who was involved in the attack rather than Nina? How can they think as pp said that tiny Kelly could fight off Corey? Corey’s crying etc was so fake on the stand. It’s so annoying!

Akire · 11/09/2021 23:26

It makes no sense does it. They hinted that if Kelly had rang ambulance he may have lived but no one said that to Cory not charged him with allowing bodily harm or whatever. Why no medical professional to say that yes people can remember events triggered by seeing or hearing things at a later date? What did he use all of Gary’s money on?

Now all we have to look forward to this week is….

Imran feeling guilty about going off with his Ex and the guilty verdict

Toyah feeling guilty she’s been a nagging counsellor and not proper GF and letting Kelly down as foster mum

Simon feeling guilty about letting Kelly down

Nina feeling depressed about verdict

Roy feeling depressed that Nina is depressed about verdict

Abbie being angry and depressed and most likely kicking some cars in and feel guilty and depressed about nearly taking drugs.

Kev feeling guilty and depressed that he let Abbie to be on own and nearly relapse with drugs

Asha feeling sad and depressed her lucky charms didn’t work and how it’s all her fault dating Cory

Yeah next weeks going be right blast. Cheers Corrie writers

Deadringer · 12/09/2021 11:44

I am still catching up so i might have missed something, but if Corey admitted that he dumped his clothes, why haven't they been found? I assume Kelly is going to get off on an appeal when new evidence pops up, i think she got sent down so people will root for her, then they can keep her on as a character. It's a pattern on Corrie, a character does bad, everyone hates them, then they get accused of something in the wrong or save someone's life and all is forgiven.

Akire · 12/09/2021 11:50

He came clean told police where dumped but oh dear we can’t find them in canal. They didn’t rely on any forensics just two boys who friends saying she did it. Plus of course mouthy mum saying she is violent and horrid.

SpindleWhorl · 12/09/2021 11:56

It really is an insulting load of old kack, isn't it?

SpindleWhorl · 12/09/2021 12:00

Oh and the bit where Nina rent her black veil in two, was that supposed to be a nod to the biblical reference?

I suppose we've already seen Seb reappear ...

Well they did it with Tracy didn't they! Her murder of Charlie Stubbs was premeditated as well (and didn't she cause the death of Sophie's girlfriend? ) yet she's now a likeable character!
woodhill · 12/09/2021 12:27

I'm bored with it now and past caring, never used to feel like this with Corrie

Viviennemary · 12/09/2021 16:55

Please Imran ditch Toyah. Get back with your ex. Am I the only one who thinks this is on the cards.

eggandonion · 12/09/2021 17:51

There has to be lots of prison stuff and a miscarriage of justice thing. I really wish people would get on better and not get into trouble with the law.
