Its very very common for the Deaf community to have, and share those opinions though. My relatives have been "disowned" by some members of the community for choosing to have implants for their children.

No it isn't actually any of her business. But it's a realistic one.

As an aside, the sign for 'L' that the interpreter just showed Rita isn't the sign for L in BSL. At least it wasn't when i learned it. Has it changed?

I’ve fast forwarded through most of tonight’s episode. Thank god. someone phoned the police. She has every right to feel how she does but cannot speak for absolutely everyone who is deaf. I’d have been absolutely furious. Gemma is a wet blanket.

They absolutely could have have freda say all that to Gemma and chesney, as passionately as she did, without any of the kidnap nonsense. She was a regular visitor to their house, she could have said it all sitting on their sofa with a cuppa in her hand.

She didn’t really kidnap Aled to say her piece though, she kidnapped Aled because she is grieving and had just been told she couldn’t see Norris one last time. She just snapped. She didn’t take him to make her point, she just knew jerked and locked herself in the community centre. Yeah, ‘cause that’s how deaf people behave when they’re grieving Hmm They really have cocked up the whole of Norris’ death.

I thought it was terrible. She was completely in the wrong to kidnap Aled causing him to miss a hospital appointment made by his parents. I would have called the police long before they did!

I was already fed up of Freda being so bossy and opinionated about someone else's child, but she's gone way too far! And she did it so that he'd miss his operation, as well as to make her point. She had no right.
